From the website of Padron Cigars, “The award winning 1926 serie premiered in 2002 to commemorate Jose O Padron’s 75th birthday. Continuing our tradition, this series is offered in a box-pressed format offering refined tobacco aged five to ten years, then blended to create an exceptionally smooth, complex, balanced full-bodied flavor. For protection, a double band with an individually numbered guarantee number is applied to every label to safeguard against counterfeiting.”

The No. 1 is the king of the Padrón 1926 lineup. At 6.75×54, this box-pressed Double Corona is the longest cigar in the entire 1926 Serie and the one that gives the five to ten year aged Nicaraguan tobaccos the most room to fully express themselves from first light to finish. Smoking time on the No. 1 runs close to two hours, and every minute of it earns its keep.
The sun-grown Habano wrapper is warm, silky, and immaculate, leading with cedar, cocoa, and a toasty natural sweetness that transitions steadily into earth, roasted almonds, baking spice, and a long, refined pepper finish that the longer format develops more completely than any of the shorter vitolas in the line. Padrón grew the tobacco on their own farms in Nicaragua, aged every leaf between five and ten years, and rolled the No. 1 by hand at Tabacos Cubanica with the zero-tolerance construction standard that has made the 1926 Serie the most 90+ rated cigar line on the planet. Double-banded, individually numbered, limited to 100,000 cigars annually across the entire series. This is the Padrón 1926 for when you have nowhere to be and want to smoke the best cigar you own. Clear the evening.

An exceptional smoke for a special occasion. Rarely do I think a cigar is worth a +$20 price tag.
But I keep paying it….

First off I shop around before I buy and Cigars Daily had a sale and was the lowest price. The cigars came carefully packaged. The cigar is so good. Smooth texture as of silk from the get go and stays that way to a nub. Makes the cigar seem mild although it is medium body. Construction draw and burn excellent as expected from Padron. Tasty but not overwhelming. A nice mix of spice and cocoa some toastiness and a little nutty. Life is too short so go ahead and treat yourself.

This stick is unreal. Definitely top of the line. It’s rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced from start to finish. Easy to grab and know you’re going to have a great smoke

I don’t normally buy $20+ cigars but I wanted to compare with the 1964 when I decided to try the Padron. This series is everything that reviewers have said. It is a refined rich and smooth tobacco that is distinctive from other cigars. On all factors that matter, the overall experience is top notch. Regarding the comparison, I want to do it over and over again.
