Ferio Tego Generoso 2024 Toro (6×50)

Summary

Michael Herklots has been treating the Generoso the way a winemaker treats a great vintage: same structure, same philosophy, same Plasencia factory in Estelí, but never the same cigar twice. The 2024 is the fourth release since Ferio Tego debuted in 2021, and it is the one that received the most time in the cellar before release, rolled in late 2023 and given additional maturation before arriving in stores in August 2025. That patience shows.

The Honduran sun-grown wrapper on this 6x50 Toro has a depth and integration with the Nicaraguan binder and filler underneath that earlier vintages took longer to develop. Herklots describes the 2024 profile as darker and more savory than its predecessors: allspice, mocha latte, toffee, Turkish coffee, and a wagyu-like richness that earns its description every time someone tries to explain it to a skeptic.
