“Amar” means moon in Arabic and love in Spanish — and AJ Fernandez chose that name deliberately. After the devastating 2025 fire that tore through his Estelí factory, the cigar community showed up. Retailers, smokers, fellow makers — people who didn’t have to do anything chose to do something anyway. Amar is his answer to that. Rolled at the San Lotano Factory in Ocotal while the Estelí facility rebuilds, this all-Nicaraguan puro wears a Habano wrapper and carries medium-full strength across a lineup of four vitolas built to stand as regular production going forward.
The Toro is the 6×56 — a wide, generous format that gives the blend its fullest expression, burning slow and even through a profile of dark spice, rich chocolate, cinnamon, and earth that builds in complexity from first third to finish. AJ Fernandez has always made cigars that taste like they were built with intention. This one was built with something more than that. Every draw is a thank you.

Oh my I loved this cigar. Even burn, white ashes, rich flavor. I got the 5 pack to try it and I like. Will definitely buy more of this brand.

I bought two of these. One to age, and one to try. Flavor especially on light up is phenomenal. Pepper eases into it gently. It’s a very delicious and creamy smoke. Very aromatically pleasing too I might add. The only problem is that the wrapper cracked pretty bad near the cap and in the middle of the cigar before I even got past the first/third Hat to take some points off for that. Nobody wants to fight the wrapper falling apart just to enjoy a cigar. Kinda disappointed, considering I’ve never had any quality or construction issues on an aj blend period. Otherwise I would say if it wasn’t for that, this would be a masterpiece of a smoke. I hope its just one bad apple in the bunch and not a consistent issue. I’ll let the other one rest a bit before I try again. Definitely think its worth a try if you’re an aj fan otherwise.

Typical AJF cigar Great construction, draw and flavor profile. If you like a consistent burn try this stick. Notes of chocolate, nuts and cinnamon. Medium to full in strength.
