Description

From the website of Padron Cigars, "Founded in 1964 and evolving throughout our history... all tobacco used in the manufacture of this series is sungrown and aged for a minimum of two and one-half years. Offering exceptional and quality value, every cigar in this series comes in a natural and maduro wrapper."

Summary

The Padrรณn 4000 Maduro is the longer, leaner member of the Thousand Series โ€” a 6.5x54 box-pressed Toro Extra that gives the family's legendary Cuban-seed Nicaraguan blend one of its most unhurried, contemplative expressions. Where the 5000 delivers in a shorter, wider format, the 4000 stretches that same sun-grown Maduro foundation across a longer burn that evolves slowly and rewards patience with every third. All tobacco is grown on Padrรณn family farms in Nicaragua and aged a minimum of two and a half years before rolling at Tabacos Cubanica in Estelรญ โ€” the same standard that has made this line one of the most consistent performers in the industry since 1964. The dark, oily Maduro wrapper leads from the first draw with rich dark chocolate and espresso before giving way to leather, cedar, molasses, dried fruit, and a long, smooth finish anchored in natural sweetness and a gentle black pepper that never overstays its welcome. A 92-point rating from Cigar Aficionado confirms what longtime Padrรณn smokers already know. This is exactly the cigar you reach for when the day finally slows down.

Itโ€™s what youโ€™d expect from Padron. Excellent construction and consistent flavor throughout.

What a great cigar, especially for the price. Chocolate, leather, spice, and quite a bit of strength. The construction on these things is always perfect and they tend to burn slow which I love. I flip flop between whether I like this or the natural better.

Saw a review of this elsewhere, and had to try it. Now it's in my top 5 of my rotation. Tons of flavor, great chocolate notes, strong and robust, everything I love in a quality stick.

After 47 years of cigar smoking this is the most satisfying on my palate in itโ€™s price range and beyond and ALWAYS a perfect draw & construction even though they look kinda โ€œratty!โ€

Just ordered some more, i always have the thousand series available in my humidor. Simply put, never had a bad one. This may be one of the MOST consistent cigars you will ever smoke. This batch i just received is perfect, because the wrapper seems oily enough to see smoke coming off of it. The flavor of Cocoa, and roasted nuts, a slight sweetness are prominent with every puff. CD maintains their cogars well, so I really enjoy buying from here.

Today, Iโ€™m smoking the Padron 4000 Maduro, and hereโ€™s what Iโ€™m thinking. Right off the light itโ€™s a little peppery on the retro hale, thereโ€™s some oak, and spiciness on the palate, a hint of a chocolate with a sweet wrapper. Coming into the second third this thing has come to life with a brighter chocolate and a new note of leather and become really sweet. I almost want to call out a cinnamon but itโ€™s so light it quickly fades away. Itโ€™s holding a good almost 2 inch ash, and it has good construction. Medium low strength, and the retro hale is smooth now. Medium plus finish of sweetness and spice. Iโ€™m getting something that reminds me of tooth paste but not in a bad way, itโ€™s actually kinda interesting. Thereโ€™s also a faint vanilla sometimes in the draw. Coming into the final third, itโ€™s become really smooth. Still very flavorful with a little more of that spice on the palate. Thereโ€™s also a char note now. The sweetness has taken a back seat in the profile. The burn line has developed a little waviness to it. A new note of a bitter wood. Overall this cigar was pretty good. My score on this came out to a 90.

One of my favorite daily smokes, consistent, always great flavors of oak, choclate, and an very faint bit of spice. The best is when i order this from Cigar Daily, they always arrive fresh and delicious. Thank you
