From the website of Padron Cigars, “The award winning 1926 serie premiered in 2002 to commemorate Jose O Padron’s 75th birthday. Continuing our tradition, this series is offered in a box-pressed format offering refined tobacco aged five to ten years, then blended to create an exceptionally smooth, complex, balanced full-bodied flavor. For protection, a double band with an individually numbered guarantee number is applied to every label to safeguard against counterfeiting.”

The No. 6 is the cigar that landed Padrón the #2 spot on Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 list in 2019, and it has never stopped earning its keep since. At 4.75×50, it’s the compact robusto of the 1926 Serie — shorter and more concentrated than the No. 9, delivering the full weight of five to ten year aged Nicaraguan tobacco in a focused, punchy format that hits hard from the very first draw. The 1926 Serie was introduced in 2002 to honor the birth year of José Orlando Padrón himself, and the family built it around a simple, uncompromising standard: tobacco aged between five and ten years, grown on Padrón family farms, rolled into a box-pressed format with flawless construction and double-banded with an individually numbered guarantee label.
The sun-grown Habano wrapper on the Natural is warm and smooth, leading with rich cocoa, dark earth, roasted coffee, and a complex spice that builds steadily across a burn that lasts well over 45 minutes despite the compact dimensions. Padrón has placed in Cigar Aficionado’s top 10 every single year since 2004. The No. 6 is a big reason for that. Get a box and find out why for yourself.

I rate this cigar at 94.
Great smoke! Mail flavors 1/3 black pepper, dark chocolate and cocoa. 2/3 wood, earth, black pepper and cocoa.
FIRST THIRD
The cigar begins with a mix of musty wood, earth and black pepper. The retrohale is musty wood and light earth. At an inch in, the black pepper has mellowed a fair amount. At an inch and a half, the black pepper picks back up and all of the components are even. The strength in this third was slightly above medium.
SECOND THIRD
As the second third begins, the musty wood and earth are slightly dry and a bit ahead of the black pepper. At a half inch in, the profile is fairly drying to my palate. The retrohale is now musty wood, earth and light black pepper. At an inch in, the black pepper has a very long finish. At an inch and a quarter, the wood gains some toast. As the third comes to a close, the toast becomes fairly heavy. The strength in this third remained at slightly above medium.
FINAL THIRD
The final third begins with musty and lightly charred wood, earth and mild black pepper. The retrohale is now musty wood and dry earth. At three quarters of an inch in, the black pepper is very faint. The cigar wraps up with musty and lightly charred wood, dry earth and faint black pepper. The strength in this third remained at slightly above medium.

One of my favorite cigars on the market. Balanced spice with a subtle earthy sweetness. Everything you want and more from a Nicaraguan puro. Pardon QC is also impeccable. The perfect draw and burn on every 1926 with no exceptions whatsoever.
