The 2000 Maduro is the Padrón you reach for when you want everything the dark wrapper delivers but only have time for a quick, focused smoke. At 5×50, it’s the most compact Maduro expression in the Thousand Series — a tight, punchy robusto that wastes absolutely no time getting to the point. The sun-grown Nicaraguan Maduro leaf that wraps this cigar is dark, oily, and fermented to bring out the full depth of its natural sweetness, and in a 50-ring gauge format that concentrated character hits faster and more directly than in any of the larger vitolas.
Espresso, dark chocolate, leather, dried fruit, and a molasses sweetness build quickly across a burn that clocks around 45 minutes, with the Cuban-seed Nicaraguan filler adding earthiness and backbone that keeps the profile from going one-dimensional. Same family-farmed Nicaraguan tobaccos, same two-and-a-half year minimum aging, same hand-rolling at Tabacos Cubanica in Estelí that José Orlando Padrón established in 1964. Big flavor in a small package. This is the one you grab when the clock is running.

I’m not sure how this is rated 90+ but I guess it’s subjective. I found this to be more on the “full” side than medium, and while I like a bold tobacco I thought this flavor profile had a rough edge to it. I don’t just mean strong, I mean rough. Harsh. Not well rounded.
I don’t think this cigar would be good for beginners. The first third was really harsh, I nearly gave up on it. Second third was a little better, and it got smoother from there, but even as it got smoother I never warmed to the flavor profile. I may keep a couple on hand for giving away to occasional guests, but I won’t smoke this again.

Great flavor from light up. Good even burn and draw. First 3rd had notes of leather. Finish is very smooth on exhale. Consistency and construction are good. Held a great ash. At $6.40 a stick it’s a good addition to any humidor.

Good cigar.

Overall good cigar. Firmly packed tobacco with minimal veins and tight seams. The draw /burn and construction where perfect with thick voluminous amounts of med/full bodied smoke. The flavor profile consisted of spice/pepper/heavy earth/leather and coffee.

An great cigar, full of flavor, great from start to finish. Very high quality stick especially at the price. Highly recommend this as a regular in the humidor.

Tried my first 1000s cigar and loved it. It doesn’t have a lot of complexity which is what I usually look for in a cigar, but the entire experience overcame that. The flavor and strength was perfect for the duration of this robusto. It was also one of the easiest smokes with straight lazer-like burn (zero touch ups) and lots of smoke. For this price, it is now one of my favorites in this vitola category.

Reality of this cigar is its a good cigar for the price. Construction is great. The flavor is definitely full with some complexity. Its a good introduction cigar into the Padron line.
