A quote from Alan Ruben on AlecBradley.com, “Sunlight plays an important role in the growth and flavor of tobaccos. Using 100% sun grown Nicaraguan tobaccos, I blended to the taste buds of the every day smoker looking for a bolder cigar at a great value. American Sun Grown does everything I set out for it to do. When we introduced the cigars to the world, we were delighted to find out that the brand transcended the American market. American Sun Grown’s flavor profile was embraced across the globe.”

Wow! In short, this cigar was an amazing smoke, rich and bold, and I’m sure experienced cigar smokers will enjoy it. Maybe first-time cigar smokers should try some lighter sticks at first. Having said that…
I’m predominantly a pipe smoker and new to cigars. This cigar is the first one I tried. Some of my pipe tobaccos are pretty strong, so I figured I could handle this cigar. But the start of this stick tasted REALLY strong/full to me, which is why I feel that smokers with no experience with strong blends (pipe or cigars) should start off with something lighter. If I had never smoked strong pipe tobacco before, this cigar would have totally turned me off, but only in the first 1/3 of the stick. The 2nd third and beyond was less “kick you in the face”, and turned out to be a delicious and beautiful smoke. I really enjoyed it!! Pretty complex flavor, very rich and nicely balanced. For me it’s a home run. I’m definitely going to pick up some more of these.
One critique I have is the burn was a little wonky but not hard to manage, I don’t know if a wonky burn means the construction is not the best, but whatever the case this cigar was so fantastic that no minor critique disqualifies it from my wanting to buy it again.

Nice stronger stick for those who enjoy a bit more pop out of the cigar, burn was clean and the flavor was very balanced for a bold cigar. Might be something that people who prefer a creamer stick might want to hold off on purchasing, but with today’s market leaning to the stroger sticks this will fit most.

Great cigar. Has a great burn and good smoke output. At less than $6 a stick it’s a fantastic smoke at a great price

Another great affordable cigar from Alec Bradley. I picked up notes of dark chocolate..coffee and leather. Nice smooth smoke with a whisper of spice. The spice does pick up in the final third but overall a great cigar IMO.

This is nice bold stick. Good to the last third. I could not put this one down. Very well balanced, hints of coffee maybe chocolate. Best part is it doesn’t break the bank.

One word summary…”Wow”! This cigar is amazing. It has completely invisible seams and a nice band, with a chocolate colored wrapper. I watched Tim’s video prior to smoking it and couldn’t agree any less about the burn, mine was extremely even with a solid non flaky ash. I did zero touch ups and it was razor thin. The “Cut and a light” kicks off with some roasted coffee and the sweetness from the wrapped blends into the flavor profile giving it an espresso dumb down, it’s definitely nutty with a very smooth retro hale taste of black pepper without the burn. Into the second third I’m picking up some almond in the mix, and an alter taste of a pancake syrup. This cigar is medium body, medium nicotine level, with a simple few flavors balanced profile. There’s a flavor in the retro hale I can’t describe but it’s really good. The final third is where the strength has picked up and it’s more of medium plus body now. Over all, I totally agree with the 91 rating Alec Bradley says it is, and I will be purchasing more of these. It had a nice smoke output and a fairly easy draw.
