Description

From Americanvikingcigars.com, "Rico Barato is not a real person. We made him up. His name means Rico - 'rich' Barato - 'cheap'. These are our econonmy cigar brand, and they have a very special place in our hearts. There was a long time when co-owner Tim Swanson could only afford sticks like these.ย Each stick is a mix of long filler with some short filler sprinkled in, making this a Cuban Sandwich. The drawback with these affordable cigars is that they burn a little faster, and have a pretty simple flavor profile. But we feel that these Connecticut sticks offer incredible consistency, construction, and flavor... especially for their shelf price."

Summary

Rico Barato is less of a person and more of an idea. His name mans Rico 'rich' Barato 'cheap'. It American Viking Cigars economy brand that matches quality construction and flavor with a bunded cigar shelf price. It's the perfect blend for working around the yard, swimming in the pool, or sharing with a group of friends.

Super impressed with this cigar. One of the best budget Connecticuts on the market. I enjoyed this one way more than I did the Maduro. Construction was solid, flavor was very good, aroma was excellent. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a golf or every day cigar.

I'm a newer cigar smoker and hopping around brands and flavors to figure out what I like. This is a nice budget cigar. A little light on flavor compared to other premium brands I've tried but 1/3 of the price. The flavor and aroma are not harsh but did leave a slight ashy flavor on my palette. Definitely worth trying.

Super smooth and mellow with absolutely zero harshness. The flavor is very mild and the only way I can think of to describe it is somethin so a faint resemblance to egg noodle pasta. Anything you pair this with will be the main course while this will be more of a side dish, and personally sometimes that's what I want. The mellow flavor, complete lack acridity and cool burn, combined with a very affordable price make this a great anytime smoke and a perfect cigar to hand to a friend. As I smoke this cigar for the first time (not counting the cigarillo version I had earlier today), the only negative I can think of is that is is a little bit like smoking a pipe in that it does seem to want frequent puffs to avoid going out, a bit like a pipe. This is definitely going to be a staple in my collection.

Good flavor and cant beat the price. If you are smoking cheap cigars these are a good choice.
