Zino Davidoff spent two years in Cuba as a young man learning the tobacco trade before returning to Switzerland to build one of the most respected names in the cigar world. The brand that carries his name has been reinventing itself ever since, and the Honduras line is Davidoff's most direct statement yet about what the Zino brand can do when it reaches for more intensity. The wrapper is Ecuadorian, but everything underneath it, the binder and the filler, comes exclusively from Honduras, specifically from the Copán and Jamastrán Valley growing regions that have been producing some of the finest tobacco in the Western Hemisphere for generations. Rolled at Diadema Cigars de Honduras S.A. in a 6x50 Toro, the result is a medium-full smoke with genuine presence: cedar up front, then leather, dark earth, coffee, and a Honduran terroir character that is unmistakable and impossible to replicate with tobacco from anywhere else.
