The Havana VI lineup has always been Pete Johnson's most Cuban-spirited project. Not Cuban tobacco, not Cuban seed, but Cuban soul: traditional triple cap construction, volado leaf in the filler for a softer, more restrained strength profile than the Black Label or the Miami, and a blend philosophy rooted in balance rather than intensity. The García family at My Father Cigars in Estelí has been executing that vision since 2006, and the Series E is the clearest proof yet that twenty years of collaboration produces something that no amount of planning alone ever could. The soft box-press on this 5 3/8 x 52 is a departure from most Havana VI vitolas, and the higher-priming Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper is darker and richer than the leaf covering the rest of the core lineup.

Those two decisions together produce a cigar that feels simultaneously familiar to longtime Havana VI smokers and genuinely new. The double binder anchors the construction with a consistency that single-binder formats rarely match, and the Nicaraguan filler delivers cedar, earth, and a gentle black pepper that builds slowly and never overwhelms.
