A great classic cigar for me. Cost effective and delicious. I prefer these Maduro over the original ones. Always consistent in construction and draw as I've come to expect from Oliva. Love the chocolate, espresso, and cinnamon spice that I get from these stick. As always, they were packaged perfectly with a humidity pack and arrived quickly to my door and straight to my humidor.

I purchased two of these one to rest a few weeks and then one to rest/age longer in my humidor. I lit the first one last night and was very disappointed. The original V is my favorite cigar and I love Mexican San Andres wrappers. This one did not do it for me, the draw was way too tight, i was having burn issues and i was not getting any particular flavor notes that i pick out with others. I give it a 3 star because i do want to save judgement until i try the stick for a second time.

Tonight, Iโm smoking the Oliva V Maduro and going on a, โfull octane ride of wild Nicaraguan flavorโ. This cigar comes equipped with an oily looking unshinny dark wrapper. I stuck this thing clean up my nose to explore any pre light flavor notes it might give off. (Didnโt happen) then I licked the entire thing. (Also didnโt happen) I was able to pick out about 15 different flavor aroma's smelling it through the cellophane (definitely didnโt happen). The โCut and a lightโ kicks this smoke down off with some sweetness from the wrapper, and a little black pepper punch from the retro hale, thatโs right, I broke cigar protocol and retro haled my first draw. As Iโm getting comfortably into the first third, Iโm getting strong leather, bakers chocolate, and a tiny bit of earth. Itโs balanced and smooth, with a long finish and a dark flavor profile. All the usual โJeopardyโ picks of RSTLNE. Rounding second base, itโs picked up a licorice and red/black peppery retro hale. Oak, coffee for sure, even some coco and rich espresso notes. The wrapper sweetness is still holding on as well. Itโs been a nice even burning cigar, no touch ups. However the high medium body has smoothed out a bit. Itโs holding a nice white ash which held on for over two inches. The coffee has become roasted and the chocolate turned milk toward the end of the second third. As I slide into third base, itโs becoming more full bodied with coffee, again. This cigar had really good construction but it is heating up a bit now. It had a fair draw with some pretty good smoke production. It took me an hour and thirty minutes to stamp this out, which didnโt do anything to improve my wifeโs mood about wanting to go out tonight. Iโm going to throw this under the bus with a 90 points rating, and yes, โIโll be backโ.
