I've had a couple of these now and they keep getting better and better. This is a cigar that you need to take your time with and smoke slowly. Certainly for me, it doesn't repond well to heavy draws in short intervals. If I take my time with it, it gives espresso and chocolate. It's big and rich, not for someone who prefers a light connecticut. But it is complex and and priced right on the money for keeping a couple in the house.

First time ordering My Father La Opulencia Toro (6x54) - Box of 20. Had two the first day they arrived. Great cigar, medium body flavor with hints of leather. Very smooth cigar. On average it's about an hour long smoke.

My Father is a great producer of cigars. Smoke quality, composition & draw - top notch. I put this one neck and neck with the Judgeโ€ฆ so easy to say, this is a favorite too.

One of my favorites of the My Father line. Box-pressed and perfect construction every time. Medium to full in strength. The oscuro wrapper and Nicaraguan filler completes the package. Cocoa and leather notes throughout the burn. Excellent!

I had a My Father Judge and loved it, so decided to try some of their other cigars. La Opulencia is my new favorite! No issues with burn or draw. Super smooth and flavorful. I will be budgeting for a box of these!!

Today Iโ€™m smoking a taste of the Nicaraguan lifestyle covered in the Mexican night life created by my favorite cigar maker, โ€œMy Fatherโ€, not my actual father however. This is the La Opulencia aka โ€œThe sexy stickโ€. Like most women I know, who stares into the mirror as says โ€œooh, I look goodโ€. This cigar has a nice dark wrapper that appears toothy and has the famous double artsy presentation bands. It come wearing two base ball caps, small veins with tight thin seams. The โ€œCut and a lightโ€ kicks off with some black pepper, leathery earth, with a roasted coffee in hand. As Iโ€™m getting into this Iโ€™m getting dark coco powder, oak, a toasted nuttiness, and I thought cinnamon had come out to play but in a weaker form. It has a chewy smooth smoke, with a light spicy retro hale and a long finish. The sweetness is light with a hint of cedar in the background. Headed into second base, Iโ€™m sliding in with a nice dark chocolate and red licorice, roasted nutty coffee in an oak mug. Itโ€™s giving off a red pepper retro hale with a touch of cedar. Itโ€™s almost like an espresso created from the mind of a starbucks teenager. The ash held on for about two inches, and has a pretty even razor sharp edge. Itโ€™s increased to a med plus body, with a full flavor profile. Stealing third base, Iโ€™ve come across a natural peanut buttery note, the cedar has faded, still getting the black coffee, oak and leather. The smoke is slightly oily, with a sweetened retro hale. Chocolate is still flavor forward. Thereโ€™s a roasted walnut in the mix now. Itโ€™s a smooth cigar overall, and it seems more full body now, the strength has increased. Itโ€™s given me an hour and a half task of completing my smoke down, and Iโ€™m pooping this in my 95 points category.

Absolutely wonderful smoke! Amazing flavors with a morning cup of coffee, smooth all the way through. My first cigar from My Father, and the experience was more than I could have asked for. My wife loved the aroma as well. Looking forward to the next one!

For everyone asking it's packed with coffee and earthy notes but not really dark coffee. The finish at the beginning has little hints of white pepper with almost no burn on the retrohale. The second third starts to transition to coffee and floral notes with some of the earthy notes still present; the retrohale completely smooths out with no white pepper anymore. The final third is really earthy and floral with some coffee and sweet notes at the end and a super smooth retrohale. Overall a very good cigar with amazing construction, a great burn and fantastic transition to start to finish.
