Summary

When Steve Saka makes a big ring gauge, you know it’s going to be something special. The Mi Querida Gorila Gordo (6x60) is the latest heavyweight in Dunbarton’s celebrated Mi Querida line, and it comes packed with all the dark, earthy richness fans have come to love.

Handcrafted in Nicaragua, this beastly 6x60 is wrapped in a flawless Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper—thick, oily, and brimming with character. Beneath it lies a sturdy Nicaraguan binder and a core of meticulously aged Nicaraguan fillers, blended to deliver the quintessential Mi Querida profile: robust, rustic, and deeply satisfying.

On the palate, the Gorila Gordo opens with bold flavors of earth, black pepper, and espresso, soon joined by dark chocolate, leather, and a touch of molasses sweetness. The larger format magnifies the smoke output, producing dense, chewy clouds that coat the palate and evolve gradually through a long, rewarding burn. Despite its size and intensity, the balance is remarkable—complex yet approachable for anyone ready to step into fuller-bodied territory.

The Mi Querida Gorila Gordo is unapologetically bold, unapologetically Saka, and absolutely built for smokers who want a cigar as big in presence as it is in flavor.

History note.... about 3 months ago I had this cigar. Right after the first third got a weird taste at the shoulder and noticed some oily black residue coming out of the tobacco. I did not know what it was other than maybe alot of oils in the filler that caused this but when I talked to Tim after, he stated that if you get this issue just trash the cigar. Now I know. I grabbed another but have not smoked it yet. I will keep notice if it happens again. Could not get more than 2 stars but will try again.

Damn fine smoke. Smooth and full of flavor. Another Saka home run!
