Espinosa Murcielago Box-Pressed Toro (6×52)

I am almost always a sucker for anything Espinosa. This is no exception. Love it.

My first full box purchase and I was not disappointed. Great cigars smooth on the golf course, yard, or wherever you want them. This is my go too now and the foreseeable future!! Side note the box and bands are sick, the holographic logo hits hard!! Unleash the bat 🦇

I purchased a box from Cigars Daily. 21 cigars @ $160. Excellent daily smoke. 3/16/25 I rate this cigar at 92. 65° temp & 59% RH. They’re mainly fear-based and most stories you see, other than that of billionaire vigilante justice, have them depicted as something evil and terrifying. The true fact is that these animals are a symbol of death and rebirth, bringing on change in a new way. The Murcielago brings symbolism in just that manner to the cigar world. Often times blends are changed to make them better than their predecessor and when you pair off anything with AJ Fernandez, you’re bound to come out with something amazing. If you haven’t tried this yet then you’re not the hero Gotham needs right now. FIRST THIRD Begins with a heavy dose of dark wood, chocolate and black pepper. The chocolate fades back while the dark wood and black pepper are up front with a slight creaminess. The pepper settles down and the chocolate note reemerges. The dark wood is still up front and a slight creaminess is also present. The retrohale has an equal mix of the dark wood and black pepper. As the third comes to a close, the wood lightens up with the cream and chocolate in the forefront. The flavor is medium. The strength in this third was medium-full. Body is medium-plus with a creamy white smoke texture. Ash is flaky but thick and chunky. Burn is straight. SECOND THIRD As the second third begins, the wood is just slightly ahead of the cream and chocolate notes. At a half way, some black pepper returns to the profile. The retrohale maintains an equal mix of wood and pepper. The black pepper mellows and the chocolate has left the profile while the wood is up front and the cream is an undertone. The flavor is medium plus. The strength is slightly above medium. Body is medium plus with creamy white smoke texture. Draw and burn are good. FINAL THIRD As the final third begins, the wood gains some darkness. Slight chocolate returns to mix with the dark wood and a bit of cream. The retrohale has dropped the pepper and now presents an oak note. The dark wood is more oak now and drops the chocolate and cream. This is the profile the cigar finishes with. Flavor profile is medium. The strength in this third bumped up to medium-full. Body remains medium plus and draw and burn are good. Got box of 21 for $160 which makes the a great daily smoke!

I've been smoking cigars for about a year now and have tried many different brands in that time finding out what I like. I have to say that this cigar is a 10 out of 10 for me! Construction and draw are very good but the flavors our outstanding, rich, and full! Never thought I'd love spicey/peppery chocolate but here we are!

Another awesome Espinosa stick. It's very peppery which I enjoy and I picked up notes of coffee mostly.

I love medium plus and full body cigars and this one is a great offering in that area. If I had to knock one thing, it would be that, for me, the leather comes on a little too strong in the final third, and leather is one of my least favorite tasting notes in any cigar. However at the price per stick here, I can't complain at all, and will definitely buy more in the future.

This is one of my favorites. If your looking for a cigar that's on the bold side of things and packed with flavor, look no further. It gives you everything you want out of a cigar and more. This cigar is like candy to me, when I'm looking for something tasty I light this bad boy up! It's straight forward, not overwhelming, no unbearable pepper, sweet chocolate notes, nice leather, and some wood.

Tonight I’m kickin it with the Batman cigar and here’s the scoop. Right off the light there’s a sweetness from the wrapper, some mouth spice of cinnamon, a tiny hint of leather, back coffee and some roasted nuttiness. Long finish on the cinnamon. Good draw. Medium plus body. As I’m getting into this I'm noticing that the spice is trying to get into the back of the throat a bit. The wrapper is chipping a bit near the cut. Sorta burning fast. Coming into second base, there’s a toasted bread note sometimes. A flavor has come into the retrohale that I can’t really explain but it is interesting. The black pepper does linger a bit. Pretty even burn line that is correcting itself. The strength is picking up now, and the flavors are getting darker. Theres a sweet leather, but the coffee has dipped a bit. The wrapper sweetness is weakening. The ash held on for about two inches. The roasted nuttiness is very noticeable. Good construction. Very dark toasted notes. The cinnamon is holding on nicely. It has a really cool reflective looking band. Now I’m wearing ash. I’m becoming more impressed with Espinosa these days. It’s become more full flavor. Coming into the final third, the flavors are backing off, and roasted coffee is coming through more. It’s becoming smoother and the strength has continued to climb. The wrapper is delicate and the cap is wanting to unravel. I’d say it is full body now. It’s getting a nice leather in the retro hale. Removing the second band did expose some minor wrapper imperfections. Theres still a hint of the cinnamon in the draw, but very much muted now. It’s finishing with a spicy roasted coffee. I’m scoring it at 89 points.
