From the website of Foundation Cigars, "Charter Oak Cigars hail from the same fertile valley in Connecticut that native son and Master Blender Nick R Agua aka Nick Melillo was born and raised. Charter Oak Cigars feature some of the most prized and sought after Cuban seed leaf varieties from the exquisite Esteli and Jalapa regions of Nicaragua. The cigars are then wrapped in a silky, beautiful Connecticut Shade wrapper and a Sumatran binder for a balanced medium bodied smoke. Or if one prefers a hearty and rich Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, leaving you with the perfect every day and every occasion cigar."Summary

Updating my review. Coming back to my second smoke of this cigar, I was surprised by the slightly improved experience. It was not dry at all. In fact it was creamier. I noticed also a saltiness on the tongue and lips, which I only vaguely remembered on the first one. In short, this is a good mild smoke for the money. I will buy more.

Iโve been looking for a good morning smoke. The size is right and the construction, burn and smoke are on point. As others have said, there is a peppery start, but once it settled all I got was hay and dryness, not the creaminess I want in a Connecticut.

Best cigar period. Donโt listen to these other reviews. Great flavor, great price, perfect smoke time, perfect burn.

I love this cigar. The construction was great and the draw was easy. I am still developing my palate so I will not address that. I am now a huge fan and will be grabbing a box.

Was my third brand I have tried and Iโd say it was a good one for the price you pay. It will be another buy for me some time in the future.

Have had this cigar multiple times in the toro. smooth nutty taste, little spice that opened up very well through the middle of the cigar. mellowed out to round out the end. nubbed it down

Ehh. I didn't think it had much flavor other than tobacco. Not bad but I wouldn't buy it again

Just picked up a box of these. I love the charter oak Connecticut. It has that spice that separates it from all other Connecticutโs. The draw was perfect and so was the burn. I like the Rothschild size as itโs not a real long smoke but packs tons of flavor!!

Great bang for your buck smoke! The quality of this smoke is definitely above the price point with woody earth notes, cream, and a light pepper on the finish. This is my go to anytime smoke and I'll always have a few in the humidor! 3 stars might be an understatement.

Overall a decent smoke. OK flavor, long lasting and slightly toothy, but a little too spicy and unexpectedly harsh. If you really enjoy Connecticuts, this might not be the best experience for you.

Very flat cap made for a tricky cut. Uneven burn and not a whole lot of smoke. A little peppery, left a tingling sensation on my lips. Retrohale had an unpleasant burn to it.

Really excellent cigar for the price point. Incredibly well constructed with no touch up needed and it held its ash very well. I definitely enjoyed the closed foot. Mostly consistent smooth flavor of creamy vanilla/woodsy flavor through the first two thirds before breaking into almost a minty finish in the final third. Light to medium 90 minute smoke. I will certainly be buying again, and for less than six bucks a stick in the Toro size it's totally box-worthy. Looking forward to trying the broadleaf next.

Great sticks for the price, and a great story behind their name. These definitely smoke like a chimney and have a pretty good construction. No touch up was needed. Sometimes it takes a stick or two to really warm up to them.

!st cigar of beginner sample pack. excellent draw, a lot of smoke. Very Pepper and spicy start but finally let up. Very little if any flavor, just bland smoke and I did get bad aftertaste on exhale. Not a beginner but just wanted to try this sample pk. Hope others are better.

Just tried my first one today! Not a fanrastic smoke, but a good one. Light easy creamy taste with very little after taste! Really good ash and nice easy draw. The burn was ok but relight was not necessary at all. Smoke was a good hour!
