AJ Fernandez New World Toro (6.5×55)

Been buying and burning these for years. Consistent construction, draw and burn. Mocha and slight pepper flavors on the palate. Definitely not the most expensive of the AJF New World line but for the price you can't go wrong.

Great cigar. It's just right when you're in the mood for a bigger ring size. Great value - especially if you want to stretch the Toro over two sessions, because the final third doesn't take a dump. Great service and delivery - quick and well packaged. The discount on the purchase made these a no brainer.

This was my first AJ - Great cigar and great value. Glad I bought a couple and will buy more when I smoke the last one. Peppery on the light up but quickly smoothed out. I got oak and leather, thinking it was similar to my Viking Dama Valada, which I absolutely love, but a little more pepper. Decent complexity in flavors. The ash was solid and plenty of smoke (I use a punch) with no draw issues. Burn was a little uneven, but nothing bad.

As is typical with a AJ cigars, the start is a punch in the nose. After that the sweetness of the the Sumatra wrapper brings out delicious flavors which make this an excellent cigar. Glad i bought a box!!

Today, I smoked the new world toro from Aj Fernandez, and here’s the scoop. After a cut and a light, this cigar gave up some impressive flavors, there’s a cedar woodsiness, a dark chocolate, a little almond nuttiness, coffee, leather and its earthy, with a tiny bit of sweetness and a black pepper retrohale. As I’m coming into the second third, the flavor profile has gotten sweeter and smoother. With all the flavors combined it almost seems to give off this medium to long finish of a light molasses. Good construction, inch and a half ash, very even burn line, full body, medium strength, plenty of smoke output, full flavor, very smooth. A near perfect draw. A little coco powder from the wrapper on the palate. You get a peppery aftertaste now that lingers a bit. It has a velvety feel. The almond and leather seems a bit more noticeable towards the end of the second third. The sweetness is just starting to fade somewhat. Im still getting a little of that chocolate in the draw. Coming into the final third, I'm getting a little more of that cedar. Very nice smooth cigar. I really didn’t expect a $7 cigar to hit it like this. Very good bargain. The strength does ramp up in the final third. Overall it was very enjoyable. Im giving this 90 points.

Easily one of the best cigars for the money I've had, and actually one of the better overall cigars. This is my go to stick now. Don't pass this one up.

The first few puffs will greet you with that now famous AJ Spice as this well contructed cigar settles in for a nice, long and satisfying smoke! The high praise given to this blend from all quarters is not hype! This thing truly does deliver in spades! I make it a point to always have at least one box at the ready in my humidor when I am looking for a great, consistent after dinner smoke!

To this day remains my favorite cigar. The flavor is strong but not overwhelming and the draw is just right. The price point is also unmatched for the quality you get. Fantastic cigar and a fantastic cigar site!
