From CAO’s website: “15 years ago, a talented cigar rep was plucked from the sales world to begin an apprenticeship in the Dominican Republic, learning the art of blending tobacco. There he met the legendary cigar-maker Yuri Guillen, and a partnership was formed.
Since then, Ricky’s become an accomplished Master Blender, and he’s been all over the world sourcing the finest, most unique tobaccos for his CAO blends like Flathead, Amazon Basin and many more of your favorites. With the new CAO Session, Ricky’s gone back to his roots, blending his new signature cigar in the Dominican Republic alongside Yuri and his original team.”

This is my go-to cigar. Sweet wrapper no too strong but full-bodied for sure and in my opinion its the best balance. Toro is the perfect size for this.

Amazing smoke production, perfectly blended, just the right amount of kick on the retro. This will be one that I keep coming back to! Plan on buying a box once you try your first out of a five pack!!!

This cigar is more of a Darth Vader than a Luke Skywalker, it’s definitely on the darker side. It is a dark flavored Maduro with strong notes, but surprisingly smooth. The ash held on for about two inches. It’s well constructed with a dark ash. Slightly reduced smoke output but a very fair amount of production. There’s a high cocoa dry powder coco at times, a little bit of cinnamon, earth, a slight sweetness, smooth retrohale, a dry finish, camp fire woodsiness, burnt toast notes, a little nutty and some white pepper. It’s high medium strength but full body. If you like Maduros you would probably enjoy this. It has thinner veins with black lines all through it. It has a tight draw. Overall it was pretty good. An after dinner type of cigar. A little bit of chocolate came through in the 2/3.
