They are finally here! Dunbarton’s StillWell Star line! Steve Saka completely breaks the rules of traditional cigar blending with the crossover into aromatic pipe tobacco for this premium blend. This traditional 6×52 toro starts out with a thick Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with a Mexican San Andres binder underneath. At its core is where the StillWell Star Bayou No. 32 starts to cross over the traditional premium cigar line. Steve collaborated with Jeremy Reeves from the renowned pipe tobacco company Cornell & Diehl to produce a filler made from Bright Virginia, Red Virginia, St. James Parish Perique pipe tobaccos. The outcome of this premium cigar and pipe tobacco mashup is an extremely rich and balanced smoke with notes of citrus, grass, cedar, and pepper. With Steve Saka, you know you are getting a top of the line stick, and the StillWell Star raises the bar!

With a pre-light aroma of damp hay, and CD of graham crackers, the first light brought cedar and pepper. The loads of smoke had a pleasant sweet aroma. The RH remained more cedar than blackberry pepper throughout. About midway I picked up some grapefruit, including some lingering bitter pith. Not overpowering, but interesting. The burn line was just slightly wiggly, no touch ups required. I definitely found some nicotine kick by the last third. The overall finish was long and earthy. I’ve spent more for cigars I enjoyed much less.

This one was very good. Excellent flavor, good retro-hale. Construction and draw were good, but burn wasn’t the best. The nicotine raise in the final third was very pleasant.

Wow this cigar was awesome! Definitely tasted as advertised in the description. Grass, citrus, cedar and pepper were very present. Would definitely smoke again and would love to try the other Stillwells
