Perdomo Lot 23 started out as an experimental seed planted in a virgin field that Nick Perdomo named, in elegant fashion, Lot 23. The field produced a small batch of tabaccos that were carefully blended together, 6 years later, bringing about this unique Nicaraguan Handmade cigar. The wrapper is a beautiful caramel brown Connecticut rolled around a rich blend of dark Nicaraguan filler and binder serving an ample amount of creaminess throughout the cigar.

How is it a Connecticut? And be so dark? I haven’t tried it personally so I cant give it a justified score.

A go-to with coffee in the morning. A little bit of a punch but mostly in flavor. Not overbearing in strength.

Can’t argue with the price! I don’t typically shop for sun grown so i chose this one as my first. Not too dry but not very oily either. Just smooth notes of raisins, caramel, and light coffee. Let’s call it a caramel macchiatto! I felt the spice in my throat but no taste which was a nice experience to make it more medium body. Perdomo quality is a cut above the rest and this was no exception. If i want a solid, easy, less complex smoke, i’ll keep this in mind.

Absolutely loved this cigar, I got hints of toffee in the first 2 thirds that turned into Coffee in the final third. Very smooth end to end with a perfect draw.

This cigar has become a staple in my collection. I just finished the box of 24 that I ordered in May of 2023 and I’m back for more! In my opinion, the flavor and strength of this cigar is a perfect medium between a maduro and lighter blends.
Flavor-wise, this cigar is flawless; from notes of almond and coffee to what I call “the classic tobacco” taste (similar to natural chewing tobacco, such as “Redman” or “Beechnut”), this cigar checks the boxes for my everyday smoke. The construction of these cigars has always been good with a perfect draw and an even burn that rarely requires a touch-up.
For the price, I think these are a great value and I can always count on them to provide a quality smoking experience.

Nice taste and flavor parred nicely with hot chocolate and even Bourbon

Unfortunately a 2-star experience only because the cigar that I received was so dry. The wrapper was cracked in multiple places and slightly removing itself from the cigar. The color was a bit muted as well. I would posit to suggest that the cigar I received had been sitting for quite a while, where the front half of the Robusto was probably at 40 percent humidity, back half probably sitting around 55. I cut the absolutely desiccated first half off the cigar and smoked the back half in an attempt to salvage some experience. I was able to experience the potential of the cigar but would describe it as a fleeting oasis off in the distance that I could observe, yet my reality remained in a barren desert. Aroma consisted of butterscotch and oak, and what I often describe in very well aged cigars as an “antique sweetness” (similar to a vanilla candle in an antique store) at the top end of the aroma. Some Perdomo Terroir was present however the overall experience was quite flat and even dusty. Zero mouth flavor developed up until the harshness of the retro-hale forced my hand in retiring the cigar altogether. I know this ain’t an 18 Don Carlos but dammit these things are about as rare and unobtanium in my area, not to mention the Lot 23 Connecticut is an absolute must in my rotation, the quintessential Connecticut.
