Partagas has been around for nearly 180 years, and Y Nada Más Cibao is proof the brand is still swinging. The second release in the Y Nada Más line, Cibao is named for the Cibao Valley in the Dominican Republic, which is about as close to hallowed ground as it gets in this industry. Handcrafted by Hostos Quesada’s boutique team at Tabacalera La Isla in Santiago, this is a four-country blend built around Dominican HVA and Criollo tobaccos from that valley, anchored by Pennsylvania Broadleaf in the filler and wrapped in a dark Ecuadorian Corojo that brings the whole thing together beautifully.
In the 6×52 Toro, you get an hour-plus smoke that opens with dark wood and white pepper, settles into mocha and leather through the middle, and finishes with a richness that the slightly beefier format really lets develop. Medium-full in body, full in flavor. Under nine bucks a stick. The name means and nothing else, and honestly that kind of confidence is earned.
