From My Father's website, "La Promesa, 'The Promise,' refers to the promise made by company patriarch Jose 'Pepin' Garcia to his family before leaving his native Cuba. He promised to prove himself, to make something of himself in the cigar world outside of Cuba. He promised to honor his family and his tobacco heritage. According to My Father, the company as it stands today with its farms in Nicaragua and factories in both Nicaragua and Miami is the fulfillment of that promise. My Father-La Promesa is covered in a dark, Ecuadoran Habano rosado oscuro wrapper, with binder and filler tobaccos from the Garcia family farms in Nicaragua."

I'm o my 5th or 6th of these. I decided to leave my community and buy 5 from Cigars Daily. This is a really smooth with lots of flavor. I double fist cigars and pick one that is lite and creamy like a Montecristo Classic along with with one that is a deep, rich, maduro like CAO MX2 or CAO Brazilian.
This cigar is really low bite with a ton a flavor. Great cigar by it's self standing between the two extremes. Box worthy to me.This cigar is smooth enough for beginners that might love that rich flavor profile of an aged maduro.
