Description

From My Father Cigar's website,ย "My Father-La Gran Oferta (The Great Offering), is the latest addition to the very well-known and prestigious "My Father" family. The cigars are rolled in the Garcia's large facility in Esteli, Nicaragua, with Cuban-seed binder and filler tobaccos grown on their own Nicaraguan farms. The wrapper is a very oily Habano Rosado and it's a medium to 3/4 cigar. La Gran Oferta translates to "the great offering," and the cigar features stunning artwork created after a very old cigar brand that sold under the same name, around 1913."

Last year, I told my wife I was taking up cigars as a hobby. She decided to come along for the ride, and now we enjoy a cigar together nearly every evening. Our first cigar was the My Father La Gran Oferta Robusto. Several boxes later, it's still one of our favorite any-day smokes. Medium-bodied with a nice peppery profile on the retro hale, a semi-light draw, and great smoke. It's a cigar that never disappoints.

This is an excellent medium+ stick. Very satisfying, savory flavors in the second 3rd. Flavor is complex and develops well. I am not a flavor note person, but it is very rewarding as you progress through the stick. Construction is fairly reliable. I have gone through a few boxes of these. The biggest construction issues are uneven burns. They put that ribbon on the end a bit tight sometimes, which probably helps with the uneven burn. Most have a good draw, I may have 2 out of 20 that need the perfect draw tool. It is one of my regulars, and at its price point, it is not to hard to keep stocked in my humi. If you are on the fence then climb on over and try it. One of My Father's nicest selections!

Perfect blend of chocolate..leather..cedar and spice. Draw and burn were good..the cigar band is sexy as hell. Gave it three stars only because it didn't blow me away but overall a decent cigar.

My favorite MF offering thus far. My palette appreciates a light base of cocoa and pepper. Medium on the wood, cedar and toasted nut flavor it imparts. Whatโ€™s exceptional is the smooth blend of all flavors. There are no โ€œsharpโ€ notes; Even mild but perfectly harmonized pepper and cedar notes on the retrohale.
