Description
Jaime Garcia is the son of Don Pepin Garcia, and an integral member of the family business.ย He's worked side-by-side with Pepin for years and has had in hands in a number of projects.ย But now, he's got his own eponymous brand - blended entirely solo.ย Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial utilizes a dark, oily Broadleaf maduro wrapper paired with a rich blend of Nicaraguan long-fillers with tobaccos from some of the Garcia family's farms. It's on the fuller side, but smooth and layered with notes of espresso, pepper, earth, and cedar.ย A tasty, well-made stick, you'll want to experience the artisanal skill of this family history.Summary

I have never had a cigar with so much chocolate. From start to finish the overwhelming flavor note is milk chocolate. Pepper and cedar in the retro. Very smooth smoke. I would call it medium. Construction is excellent and what I've come to expect from My Father. Daily smoke contender for sure.

The Jaime Garcia Reserva from My Father Cigars so far very mild. From light up to final this cigar never did hit. Very dull an bland. Sorry

Well, here we go with another great recommendation from tim. I agree with everything he said in his review! Incredible stick for the money, smokes like a much more expensive cigar. Big rich chocolatey goodness. What struck me was that you could really taste the chocolatey aftertaste in your mouth even after you are finished. Really delicious smoke! And a huge bargain at that!

Smooth, dark chocolate wrapper, medium body transitions to full, spice on light up mellows but lingers. Woody, espresso, subtle bitter cocoa. Nice draw however burn required a few touch ups.

Medium stick that got full in the final third. Nice oily wrapper. Smooth draw with a slow burn. Notes of espresso and cedar with a lingering spice. Very good all around.

A stellar smoke from start to finish. Donโt let the dark wrapper fool you, it isnโt as kick you in the teeth as you may think. It pairs great with a morning coffee.

Today, Iโm smoking it up with my favorite cigar maker, โMy Fatherโ, and today itโs the Jamie Garcia Reserva especial toro, and hereโs what Iโm tasting. After a cut and a light, I got a peppery retro hale, chocolate immediately came forward. The retro instantly became smooth and almost creamy. No pepper or spice to mention. A light coffee mixed in with a good smoke output. Thereโs also a flavor in the retro thatโs interesting, its like a peanut butter cracker. Thereโs also a dark floral note, which I hope isnโt a Bethune manipulation. Coming into the second third this cigar has added a sweetness and is getting better by the puff. The chocolate definitely stands out. The retro is also full of chocolate now. This has one of the smoothest retros Iโve ever found. I can see this cigar being a fan favorite. I find myself smoking it too fast because itโs just so good. I want to retro every puff because the flavors just amplify. The flavor profile is consistent here at the end of the second third. I know Iโm ordering more of these. Here in the final third, itโs still giving up that milk chocolate but it has added a slightly bitter dark tobacco flavor. Overall this cigar was off the hook with that chocolate, very enjoyable. My experience on this was like having a desert instead of smoking a cigar. Definitely box worthy. I smoked this down to a half an inch, and just couldnโt get enough of it. I canโt wait to get another one. My score on this came out to a 95.

I really enjoyed this cigar! Rich chocolate note backed up with with a dark roast coffee. Retrohale brought out much more. Even graham crackers! (as noted in Timโs review)
I found this one to be a very smooth cigar with thick flavorful smoke and very consistent from start to finish.
I donโt post ratings very often as I havenโt been in the cigar world very long, but this one made its way to a 93 for me. Appearance, construction, burndown, ash, flavor, strengthโฆ.this one just had everything I was looking for!!

Overall decent cigar with notes of spice..espresso..earth..cedar and leather. Three stars only because the flavor profile pretty much stayed the same from start to finish.
