From Gran Habano's website: The Rico family history in tobacco stretches back to 1920, when Guillermo Rico’s grandfather began growing dark tobacco. His father succeeded him in 1946, and Guillermo recalls following him around the fields as a child and his mother rolling cigars at home. That legacy continues today in Gran Habano with a strong sense of family tradition embedded into every cigar made in Danlí, Honduras, where in 1998 the factory was established and became the birthplace of our premium cigars and the quintessential Gran Habano look.

Summary

Cloaked in mystery, the complexity of this cigar is as unknown as the location of buried treasure in the desert. Wrapped in a veil of corojo with a claro leaf footer and Nicaraguan binders this is truly a unique cigar. It starts with a smooth creaminess and ends in an exotic fullness that disappears at the nub in a puff of smoke.

Worth the wait, everything you want in a good smoke, took over two weeks for delivery, just saying.

This cigar is an absolute budget beast. The construction is surprisingly great for a $6 stick (objective), and it has the flavor and draw of something twice it's price (subjective). To me, this smokes more like a lighter medium bodied cigar, not a medium-full like the description states. It doesn't have much spice or pepper but a lot of smooth slightly creamy sweetness with a touch of toasty flavors. The draw and burn have been great for me in the 10 of these I have smoked. I won't lie it is an ugly looking cigar to me but that doesn't turn me off for this one

Really nice smoke! Mild to medium. Great draw. Burned nice. I got a lot of smoke with each draw. This is a great choice for beginners and those that like mild to medium cigars. The price point is great. I’m 5 months in to smoking cigars, and this is definitely one of the top 5 cigars that I’ve smoked so far.

This one has made it up to my top choices for the price!

Fantastic stick for 6$

Ignored this stick for a while. That was a mistake. Great flavor

I had burn issues and a very loose draw from start to finish. However, the flavor and aroma of this cigar will have me giving it another try. Also happy with the price point.

Have you ever REALLY enjoyed a particular cigar, but you don't know why? This is one of those cigars. I don't know if it's the beautiful wrapper, stealth that comes from no band, enclosed foot... or maybe all of those things. More on the mild-Medium side, a light smoke that I could grab any time. Perfect construction, even burn. I will be purchasing a few of these with my next order.

i'm a beginner, i bought a few samplers here, and this one's description seemed to imply it was on the stronger side so i avoided it awhile... after having one or two other cigars that were stronger than i like among the samplers ( i like light to medium thus far) i finally lit this one, assuming i'd give up on it and try another. i loved this one! i found it to be quite enjoyable, and among the ones i've liked the most! thus far my faves are aj fernandez connecticut and my father flor de las antillas... this one is right in my (admittedly beginner) wheelhouse! it lasted just over an hour, burned well and had a really nice retrohale taste. i'll be buying more for sure...

Total newbie and only bought one to try, on another youtube cigar reviewers recommendation (Insomniac - should i smoke this), in addition to a sampler pack from cigarsdaily.com. Despite being described as Full Strength in the additional information section, I found it a really nice pleasant, easy and smooth cigar, especially for a beginner. Excellent all over even burn, with no touch ups needed, retained ash throughout right down to the last third - picking up the 'cigar speak' here! Must admit that I reviewed some of the Cigar Daily videos for hints and tips to get the most out of the cigar, and to avoid the basic beginner mistakes - definitely a large part of the reason it went so well. and would strongly recommend doing the same for other people. Would buy again., looking forward to trying the rest from the Beginner’s Collection Sampler No. 1.
