The name is a double play — a nod to Nashville’s legendary lower Broadway entertainment district and a wink at the dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper that defines this blend. Leave it to Jon Huber to make that work. Rolled at Nicaragua American Cigars S.A. and debuting Crowned Heads’ bold new branding, the Broadway Toro is the flagship size of one of the most talked-about new releases from the Nashville house.
The Grade A Broadleaf wrapper drapes a Jalapa binder and three-region Nicaraguan filler — Estelí, Jalapa, and Ometepe — delivering a rich, layered ride of cocoa powder, molasses, roasted coffee, dark rye, baking spice, and cedar with a soft but persistent pepper finish. Medium-full in body, impeccably constructed, and priced to make box purchases an easy call. Nashville’s Broadway never smoked this good.

This was a really enjoyable cigar for me that gave me a great experience. Good flavor balance and development in the first half of the cigar, and then consistency after that. I really enjoyed the expresso note that I had and wish I had paired it with a coffee. The construction was good, but I did have some burn issues about halfway through but nothing major that needed a touch up. The draw was a little tight at the beginning and it did get tighter towards the end of the final 3rd. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience I got with the cigar, and I definitely will be coming back to it especially, for the price point. The experience and development alone were great. I would definitely recommend this cigar.
