Summary

The Chillin Moose just got a slick set of shades, and now he's ready to join you for an ultra smooth and flavor packed chill session. This Connecticut Shade cigar is an extension of the highly popular economy brand Chillin Moose. The Shade blend features a mixture of Ecuador Connecticut Shade wrapper over binder and filers from Mexico, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Colombia, and the USA. Altogether that spells one seriously complex cigar with bright mild flavor, and it's the perfect company for any sunny day.

Foundry should really sponsor my cigar habit, my favorite brand of cigar, despite being titled a "bargain stick" by some. By far the smoothest cigar I have ever smoked, rivaled only by Oliva Connecticuts. I thought the Chillin' Moose was smooth, but this bad boy takes the cake! Typical connecticut notes, hay, honey, cream, and something akin to marshmallow, oddly enough, which is a new one for me in a cigar. This would be a great stick for any beginner, and one I plan to keep in my humidor for times when something less is more.

At light up I was punched in the face with pepper, not a bad thing for me but it was unexpected. First third and onward it mellowed out the pepper and mixed in a creamy, honey taste with pepper throughout . Notes of Graham cracker here and there. Held ash pretty well and burned well until late in the second third, were I had to touch it up a few times. Overall good stick, will smoke again.
