Description

From Alec Bradley's website: "Project 40 is the search to find a deeper understanding as to why cigars have a positive cognitive impact on the mind and body. Similar to music, cigars have a calming effect that allows us to feel in control as well as feel rewarded. A proper blend, price, and experience has been developed for your enjoyment. Take control of your happiness."

Summary

If you're happy and you know it...light a cigar! Alan Rubin understands the concept in which true happiness is a state of mind and that we can fulfill that just by lighting up a smoke. Project 40 was created for just this concept.

First off this cigar is very much the same as to how Tim described it. Upon the light up I got an instant burst of tangy citrus sweetness and was consistent up until the second 3rd where it calmed down a bit and stayed to a mild sweetness with that lemon tangy flavor profile, and the last 3rd seemed to pick up on those citrus and sweetness notes and it got a little peppery that wasnโ€™t bad at all and they actually complimented each other as flavors. The stick itself burned evenly upon toasting and lightning with no touch ups at all, surprising since it lasted me about 75 minutes. The design looks very fantastic with the double band which makes it look more expensive and classy. For sure something Iโ€™d buy in a box since the flavor profile is really tasty and different that Iโ€™ve had so far. Definitely a 10/10.

I love the meaning behind this cigar. It was a very nice mild smoke and easy on the retrohale, no spices. Perfect for any beginner aficionado. However a big con was that the ash was very weak and flaky, getting everywhere everytime I picked it up, also had some touch up issues since the ashes kept falling out.. That's one of my biggest pet peeve's with cigars: weak flaky ash. But other than that, for what it's worth it's a good cigar for its price. I have another one resting in the humidor, so I'll revisit it in a couple months!
