The Robusto is where most people meet the Aladino Corojo for the first time, and it is a hell of a first impression. Forty-five minutes, maybe fifty if you take your time, of 100% Authentic Corojo tobacco grown by the Eiroa family on their own farm in Honduras’s Jamastrán Valley. No outside leaf. No blending across regions. Just one family, one farm, one seed that traces directly back to pre-revolutionary Cuba, doing what it has always done when someone is patient enough to grow it properly. The 5×50 ring gauge is the sweet spot for this blend.
It is tight enough to let the wrapper drive the first third with cedar, cashews, and a natural sweetness, and then the ligero-heavy filler takes over in the second half with leather, earth, and a full-bodied strength that builds steadily without ever turning harsh. Around eleven dollars a stick. Twenty to a box. This is the kind of cigar you buy once and then buy again every time the box gets close to empty.
