This traditional 6×52 toro starts out with a rich oily Ecuadorian Habano Maduro wrapper with a Mexican San Andres binder underneath. At its core is where the StillWell Star Navy No. 1056 starts to cross over the traditional premium cigar line. Steve collaborated with Jeremy Reeves from the renowned pipe tobacco company Cornell & Diehl to produce a filler made from Bright Virginia, Red Virginia, Turkish and latakia tobaccos. The outcome of this premium cigar and pipe tobacco mashup is an extremely unique and smooth smoke with notes of leather, caramel, roasted nuts, and chocolate. I chose to try this on 4th of July! Very different if that isn’t obvious. I don’t know anything about pipe tobacco other than my Dad was a closet pipe smoker when I was younger. This definitely took me back with it’s aroma. It is basically what I imagined all tobacco tasted like from what I smelled throughout childhood. I can’t say if I like the flavor or not. I tasted dried fruits, black coffee, rustic leather, and hints of earthy black pepper (no bite). Got a laidback vibe with some nic-kick. Trying to figure out if I like the difference or if there just wasn’t enough “cigar” tasting notes, purely my opinion. Stellar construction and more of a Cigar suited for special occasions.

I come from a pipe smoking background and have tried several pipe tobacco cigars when I was first getting into cigars.
This is hands down the best pipe tobacco cigar I have tried. Starting out I got black tea and vanilla flavors. As you get further into the stick you get a subtle spice note that ramps up the further you get to the head. Super smooth relaxed and delicious!

I love thicker pipe tobacco and this hit the spot so hard it renewed my craving all over again. Had both of the 2 I bought almost one after the other. Definitely a favorite among favorites.
