A quote from Alan Ruben, from Alec Bradley’s website, “Alec Bradley Magic Toast got its name on a night forever etched in my memory. That’s the night, I saw for myself, by flashlight, a crop that was beyond belief. Tobaccos I knew we would find a
special project for. Under the stars, we cracked open a bottle of very special whisky and proposed a toast to our future. Magic Toast was born that evening. Along with a ritual. Toast the end of this
cigar. Celebrate its beginning. And enjoy the magic!” – Alan Ruben

I really enjoyed this stick! Medium to full bodied for me. Great flavor. Great burn. It got better and better as time went by. I enjoyed it with a few beers out on the golf course. I will be ordering more of these!

3 stars only because of flavor, beauty of the wrapper and band. One of the worst draws and wobbly burns I’ve had on a cigar. Have gone through 2 now and both had the same wobbly burn. Very disappointed in this one.

I was looking forward to smoking this cigar, I bought one before buying a quantity to see if I liked it, I left in humidor for about 2/3 weeks before smoking. Wasn’t to pleased w/ it. Found myself constantly touching cigar up w/ lighter. Packed a bit tight, taste was “OK.” Maybe, I got a bad one. Wouldn’t buy again, positives, it had a nice band around it, made it look fancy lol

I thought for sure this was going to be my go to cigar but it just disappointed me. The burn needed so many touch ups. The flavor was meh at best, glad I ordered 1 before getting a box but cigars daily was awesome quick shipping and great packaging definitely gonna be my go to shop!

Had this one as a lounge. It burned a little unevenly but I enjoyed it. Not boxworthy but I’d be willing to give it another try. Good smoke and draw, decent flavor.

I tried my first magic toast cigar in a ‘Hold the Pepper’ sampler and really enjoyed it, I have smoked another two of them and can see this becoming a weekly evening smoke. It is a medium to full bodied stick, with nice sweetness and very little spice. Maybe the construction has improved since 2018/2019 because I haven’t experienced any wobbly burn or poor draw issues that some of the older reviews have mentioned. The three I have smoked burned evenly and produced nice volumes of smoke. Highly recommend this if you want a sweet maduro without too much spice.

Today I’m smoking the Magic toast. I was hoping that while sitting in my kitchen some toast would pop up out of the toaster already buttered but no dice, I had to get up and make it myself. It has a nice dark wrapper with thin veins and near invisible seams, a little bumpy, it feels solid and well packed. Nice big band that’s an interesting night time theme. The “Cut and a light” kicked off a fruity cheeky syrup. As I’m getting into this I’m getting a slight leather, earth and a little coffee. It’s developed a roasted milk chocolate which tastes like the crust on a pan of brownies. It has a slightly tight draw and I’ve done some touch ups already. The ash is starting to burn at a 180 degree angle. A slight peppery retro hale, like a black pepper at times and others it has a smooth watered down spice. It forms this sweetness film on the pallet. Coming into the second third I’ve still got this wavy burn line I’m touching up on. It’s turned creamy leather with a medium plus body and full flavor. Long finish. The sweetness lingers around for awhile. The blending of the flavors is kinda giving me a roasted espresso profile. The light chocolate notes are really nice in there. The retro hale has picked up a little leather to go with the smooth spice. I’m also getting a back ground cedar that’s a bit muted. Half way through the burn line has improved to less wavy status. There’s a nice tobacco after taste developing on the pallet. There could be a roasted pecan or some type of tree nut in the smoke now. As the final third emerges, chocolate has become more forward and a stronger spicy retro hale. This cigar is pretty smooth, but has increased in strength some what. Overall this cigar is definitely one for the midnight camp fire with its roasted toasted flavor notes. It gave me a good smoke time of an hour and twenty five minutes and I’m scoring this about a 89+

This is a blend I came back to after a couple years…yup, years. It did not do much for me the first time, so the others just disappeared into my humidor. I dusted another off and gave it another shot. I found it very nice this time. I honestly can’t tell you if it was because I let it sit, my taste changed, different meal earlier in the day, or whatever. That doesn’t really matter because this one was very good. There was nothing off-putting. Just a pleasant flavor profile and what I hope for from a cigar. Give it a try and see for yourself.

I feel like people have a love/hate relationship with this cigar. I really do enjoy this smoke and I’ll give it a 4 star review. I’ll get these in and out of my rotation of purchasing but typically not a go-to cigar. The flavor can get old quick after 2-3 three of these sticks in a short window of time. But if your not retro haling this cigar… your not smoking it correctly. So if your not used to retro-hailing yet, don’t buy it until you can. It’s like night and day with the flavor on the retro-hail, to the point where I’d say it is one of the best cigar flavors off the retro-hail. But if your just puffing on it… the experience is just…ok.
