CAO built the FASA line around a single idea: what if three cigars shared the same core DNA but went in completely different directions based on wrapper alone? FASA means “phase” in Spanish, and Sol, Noche, and Sombra map to sun, night, and shadow. All three use a Cameroon binder over the same blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers. But the wrapper changes everything. The Sol wears a Honduran Olancho San Agustín leaf and delivers earthy cinnamon sweetness and bold sun-grown character, rated 94 by Stogie Press and rolled at STG Danlí in Honduras. The Noche goes the other direction with a dark Connecticut Broadleaf maduro, producing molasses, dark fruit, cocoa, and coffee in a richer, moodier package rolled at STG Estelí in Nicaragua.

The Sombra, the newest of the three, wraps an Ecuadorian shade-grown Connecticut leaf around the same core for something smoother and more refined: cream, vanilla, brown sugar, and a gentle earthiness that builds quietly through the smoke, crafted at General Cigar Dominicana in the Dominican Republic. This six-cigar sampler gives you both the Toro and Gigante of each blend side by side, and the contrast between them is genuinely one of the more interesting exercises in wrapper education you can get for under forty bucks.
