There is something to be said for a cigar that gets right to the point. The Ferio Tego Summa Robusto is a 5×50, which means you’re getting everything this blend has to offer in a tighter, more concentrated format that wastes absolutely nothing. Michael Herklots designed the Summa to skew darker from the very first puff: leather, espresso, charred oak, black pepper, and vanilla on a body that stays creamy and surprisingly round given the intensity of the flavor profile. At Quesada’s Tabacos de Exportación factory in the Dominican Republic, that vision gets executed in an Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper over an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and a core of Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers that took years of Ferio Tego’s portfolio-building experience to get right.
In the Robusto, the shorter length means the blend runs hotter and tighter than the larger vitolas, which pushes the darker notes forward faster and delivers a punchier, more immediate smoking experience. Thirty to forty minutes of serious flavor for around $19. Herklots and Brendon Scott set out to prove that Ferio Tego belonged in the same conversation as the best boutique brands in the business. The Summa Robusto makes that case every single time you light one up.
