Liga Privada was never supposed to leave the building. It was Drew Estate’s private blend — the house cigar, rolled from the best tobacco they had and kept for insiders. When the No. 9 and T52 eventually made it into the world, they became two of the most sought-after cigars in the industry. Then in 2018, Drew Estate did something they hadn’t done since 2009: added a new regular production blend to the Liga Privada lineup. The H99. The wrapper is the story. It’s a hybrid Corojo-seed leaf grown exclusively for Drew Estate in the Connecticut River Valley — stalk-cut from the fields, extra-fermented, oily and dark in a way that no standard Connecticut shade leaf ever gets.
It carries the spice and potency of a Corojo alongside the depth and fermentation character of a Connecticut Broadleaf, and there is nothing else like it in premium cigars. The Corona Doble puts all of that into a 7×54 format that runs well over an hour, giving the Mexican San Andrés binder and three-country filler of Nicaraguan, Honduran, and Pennsylvania tobaccos room to fully open up. From first light: espresso, fresh-baked sweetness, black pepper, dark chocolate, and cedar — evolving steadily through leather and subtle clove into a finish that just keeps going. This is the Liga Privada that was built to last.
