From the website of Foundation Cigars, “For five hundred years, Nicaragua has served as a crossroads of cultures, ever since indigenous inhabitants mocked arriving Spanish conquistadors in a colorful, costumed satirical masterpiece called “El Güegüense” (Gwe-gwe-nse), or “The Wise Man.” It is Nicaragua’s signature work of drama, the ultimate expression of its unique history, language, dance, and culture. This Gran Baile, or great dance, continues today, not only in the form of long-held folkloric performances, but in the careful blending of Nicaragua’s tobacco, which is some of the richest, most flavorful filler tobacco in the world. Master blender Nicholas Melillo has worked tirelessly to create and honor the great dance of flavors which you are about to experience in El Güegüense cigars.”

Absolutely awesome. Love the notes of cocoa and expresso. This stick is extremely smooth and tasty. Great construction and burn. Get notes of vanilla on the retrohale. The dark wrapper is perfect and just an overall awesome stick.

Just so good. I like both versions of the Wise Man but this one does it for me. Flavors of chocolate and coffee. Construction is spot on. Awesome awesome smoke.

Those transitions though! Wonderful unique take on a Mexican wrapper for sure. Usual suspects of chocolate, vanilla, and pepper. Adding in some anise, leather, cinnamon, and savory notes. Maybe a hint of black cherry too. Very complex. Looooong lasting mouthwatering finish which typically isn’t my cup of tea, but it worked well here. I had some burn issues but to be fair, our Alaska weather has been wild and i’ve been struggling with solid humidity. Can’t blame the stick but should be noted to keep this beauty in good condition for the future. Whopping 2 hour slow smoke. Major bang for your buck!

This one made it to my top 5 really quickly!
Absolutely worth a try if you enjoy cocoa/chocolate notes backed by dark roast coffee or espresso.

For me it is to light. Good pepper, and some numbing, but to be fair I like a much fuller bodied cigar. I will need to tray again just to make sure it wasn’t an off stick.

Very good cigar. It’s a citrus bomb. Starts out sour lemon and turns sweet lime. Leathery with some pepper and fresh baked bread loaf tops. Hints of black cherry. Even a small taste of chocolate hidden deep past the citrus.

I get espresso, cocoa, and slight spice. Really delicious smoke. Some roasty chocolate notes, too. Burn is great and smoke output is solid.
