I really enjoyed this robusto. I took advantage of the Pre-release bundle and was incredibly surprised at the quality.
It burned really well and fairly evenly. The ash was glorious before falling.
It started well and only got better. I smoked it down to a nub.
I was torn with the star review. I debated whether to consider the price level or just give it an overall comparison to sticks that cost more. In the end, I gave it 4 stars compared to ALL I’ve smoked. If it was starred amongst other sticks at the price point, it would get five.
Ryan Miller –
I got this card free with the AB bundle I bought during the live broadcast. I like finding good budget cigars and this fits. The smoke was a woody, sweet smokey, and spice flavor. The burn was perfect, and the draw started tight and the got easier during the burn. A cigar I would smoke again.
Georgenytv (verified owner) –
Good construction, burned great. Great early morning smoke.
m.diveglio (verified owner) –
Just a great smoke! Smooth and creamy. Great construction and a tight burn. I enjoyed it with a coffee this morning. Great way to start the day! Really impressed with all your products and I now use Cigars daily for almost all my online cigar purchases!
Justin Rhodes (verified owner) –
Had this in my humidor since last week. Finally got my hands on it last night! It now sits in my top 3! What a smooth buttery smoke.
jeffquillen03 (verified owner) –
Got one of these sticks in the sampler. Im fairly new to cigars, and found Cigars Daily through the Whisky Tribe. I purchased a couple samplers and would just grab a stick and if I liked it, order more. Well i was cleaning out my garage the other day, i figured “great time to smoke”. I ended up in a chair outside just watching the sun go down. This stick was superb, the burn required no touching up. It was a wonderful time. After I was done, i immediately ordered more.
Cant wait to see the Cigars Daily / Whisky Tribe collaboration.. They will probably sell out immediately if they are as good as this stick.
tillerman7 –
I must be the only person who either didn’t care for the Filthy Viking or just received bad sticks. I found the blend to be SUPER BITTER, and almost unsmokeable. Scored it a 60/100
Craig McEwan –
Unbelievably smooth and creamy cigar. Retrohale was so pleasant. I can only get Cubans here in Ireland and one of my favourites is the Cohiba Robusto. I can only get one on a rare occasion as it cost 34 euro. This is honestly better. Never mind the flavour, the construction is miles ahead. I’ll never buy a Cohiba Robusto again. Amazing cigar. Really took me by surprise given the price! Thanks Tim!

Ok, finally got to smoke the Filthy Viking . 1. It will now have a regular spot in my humidor.
2. You guys knocked it out of the park. The flavor profile and smoking experience in general was all I could ever ask for.
A fine smoke that is definitely worth your time and money.
Can’t wait to make an order for some of your other exclusive sticks.
John Simpson –
A new favorite
Juan –
Since I’m new to cigars I got this as a special occasion smoke and finally had a good excuse to smoke it today after my first solo flight. So far my favorite cigar and will definitely be asking for a box of these for Christmas. Very smooth taste. Smoked it till I couldn’t hold it anymore. without burning myself.
bradfordmatt17 (verified owner) –
Very smooth. Good burn. Great smoke!
m.diveglio –
This is my favorite light-medium bodied stick! This was my first time smoking the new American Vikings Cigar Co. Filthy Viking and it did not disappoint! I have smoked several original vikings and the updated blend is just as great if not better! Smooth, creamy, cedar and buttery throughout! I paired it with a hard root beer which was suggested by Tim on the Cigars Daily channel and it was a great pairing! The Filthy Viking will always have a place in my humidor!
Kevin Pollack (verified owner) –
Excellent construction, nice oily wrapper, even burn. Taste was not to my liking a bit peppery, and bitter. Some guys may love the flavor but I’m more of a San Andrés sweetness kind of guy.
chrisharman83 (verified owner) –
Awesome smoke.
Mitchell Tillman –
Great cigar!
Charley40 –
Wow! What a smoke. So far the American Viking line has been impressive and The Filthy Viking is no exception. A very rich and smooth stick with great construction, draw and beautiful appearance. The only drawback to this stick and every other AV cigar is the constant uneven burn. But that’s a small issue for me. Definitely worth the purchase.
CB (verified owner) –
I am at this point definitely an infused cigar guy, but I will say for a non-infused cigar this was a more enjoyable cigar to my palate than other non-infused cigars.
Richard Dillon –
Fairly new to being a regular cigar smoker and have been covering some territory with shapes, sizes, flavor palates. After smoking the Liga Zebras (which was spectacular for a noob) I figured I should try all of the AV offerings and picked the filthy Viking today. It started off a bit ashy rather than flavorful so I let it sit for a couple minutes to get past my bad light. I used a punch cut and the draw was great, the burn was nice and even, great smoke production, and all the flavor descriptives began starting to come through, but never quite got there. I opened up the punch just a bit about halfway down and that seemed to help a bit, but I think I missed the smoothness of the first half. I probably should have let it sit in my humidor another day or two because it seemed a little dry. Overall, I’m betting this cigar is pretty good, so I’m going to give it another try and chalk the first half up to my inexperience. I’ll give it 3 stars today and order another stick next go around.
J.C. –
Great smoke. Pretty smooth. I definitely enjoyed it. Didn’t burn well at first but that was on me, didn’t refill my lighter and didn’t have enough butane. I might need another just to make sure.
trup1979 –
Great smoke!
CB (verified owner) –
I wasn’t the biggest fan. It didn’t burn that well and I had to relight it 3 times. I see mainly good reviews so maybe my stick was just Bad luck. I’m a newer cigar smoker so that could have factored in as well. I’ll give it some time and try another though to see if my palate has changed and see if it could’ve been a bad stick
Shawn Coile –
Really enjoyed this cigar and already ordered more. Excellent flavor and burned nice a even.
Chiefjon66 –
First of the American viking line I tried and it was wicked tasty, creamy and buttery paired well with a few bourbon old fashions
Beau W (verified owner) –
Fantastic stick. So smooth and creamy It’s unbelievable! Definitely a top 3 for me now.
SkItZo240 (verified owner) –
One of the Filthiest for my third sticks by far lol! I really enjoyed The Filthy Viking Robusto it’s a great stick for a newbie like myself. thanks Tim @Cigars Daily for the recommendation!
Phillip Chavez –
I love the Liga Zebra and am a fan of mild to medium bodied sticks so I had high hopes for this one. Right from light up I noticed there was not a whole lot of flavor to be had through the first third. It definitely improved the final two thirds (faint taste of cedar, nuts and hay) but I never found a strong taste of any particular flavor that came forward. Construction, draw and wrapper were flawless. I will definitely give it another shot in the future.
KHolland –
New guy here, first time smoking this one. Outstanding. Smooth draw and flavor from beginning to end. Burn was even, good ash I really enjoyed it. There was no harsh cigar odor from the smoke on exhale or from foot. Tim you did a good job now to try the others in this sample pack.
Nelson Madden (verified owner) –
I thought this was a great stick. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was nice and smooth with a good finish. Almost a perfect burn, and draw was exactly where I like it. The Filthy Viking made my top five, but just to let you all know, I’m only about five months into my cigar life.
Harbo88 (verified owner) –
This cigar is my new go-to for my relaxing weekend smokes. Smooth draw and even burn all the way to the nub. Flavor notes are buttery cream with warm spice for me. Definitely love the band as well not that that matters all for the rating. Reminds me of eating buttery snickerdoodle cookies outside on the farm around the hay bales. Definitely worth picking up an entire box of 20
Alan Cota (verified owner) –
First of all it’s got a great construction. It burned evenly. It is very smooth indeed. Nice stick for a 45 min smoke.
Joey (verified owner) –
Great flavor. Nice easy draw. Slow burn with thick smoke. Burned uneven for the first third and had to touch up a few times. Burned nice and even after. Used colibri v cutter. Will buy again!
bsantang92 –
This Cigar lives up to the hype! Finally lit one of these up this past weekend after following American Viking Cigars for a few months and reading about all the rage. This Cigar lives up to it. Hands down. Amazing stick, favorite in the AV line and I’ll definitely be purchasing a box. Sweet, creamy and great smoke output. Flavor holds true all the way to the nub. Brilliant work fellas! Keep it up!

this is one of my favorites to pair with a sweet tea. which as a Texan, is very important
JASON SIMS (verified owner) –
This was my first cigar and I loved it. Creamy with just a touch of pepper.
Jerry LaPole (verified owner) –
Didn’t get any hint of flavor during smoke. Burned well, but would like something with unique flavor.
Edward Jenkins (verified owner) –
Deliciously creamy smoke, even burn, and for the price it really pleases me. I’m ordering more right now. I cannot thank cigars daily enough for bringing this blend to the market from a group of people that I trust. These are definitely box worthy, and if I had the humidor space I would get a whole box! Even if you puff on it quickly and the cherry is hot the flavor is still great. These are perfect for my alone time that I use to relax, kick back, and light up a Filthy Viking! The name is a misnomer, these aren’t filthy at all, they are delicious.
RhinoCigars89 (verified owner) –
My favorite American Viking cigar. Smooth and tasty the whole way. I was very impressed and will be getting more.

When you come across a stick that bolsters about being “one of the smoothest and creamiest we’ve found anywhere” and “one of the best beginner cigars,” that’s a tall order to fill. So I’ll put it to you like this – this cigar fits the bill! Read all the details below, but for someone who like a creamy, smooth cigar – this is the one for you.
Before Lightup: When you open the packaging, you’re met by a dark tan wrapper with a more simplistic color scheme but an intricately designed band. Personally, I’m a big fan of simplicity and would prefer a cigar taste better than it looks rather than looking better than it tastes. The fragrance coming off the wrapper was a sweet leather, and the pre-light draw offered a mildly sweet grassy note through a perfect resistance. We went in with the V-cut and toasted the foot as we were off to the races!
First Light: Right at lightup you’re met with a mild-to-medium body of natural flavor notes including a dried grass, a bright woodsy note (like a cedar), and a creamy leather – all what I would consider perfect and unoffensive to a beginner in the realm of Cigartopia. The textures of the smoke was delightful with a pillow-like softness and an overwhelming creaminess. It left you feeling like you had just taken a sip of milk and the residual creaminess was left on the tongue. The retrohale really helped to pick up the notes of cedar and creamy leather all while carrying no spice or warmth to the smoke.
First Third: Into the first third I was met by a very specific flavor – Teddy Grahams, specifically the ones with that cinnamon dust on them. I know it sounds crazy but there was a distinct graham cracker and cinnamon note that paired exquisitely together. I also got a touch of a roasted almonds flavor as well as a very creamy custardy flavor – not texture, just the flavor. There was a sweetness on the lips coming from the wrapper and a mild white pepper on the retrohale at this point. The burn was spot on but, as I was checking for warmth, I did notice the stick was burning fairly warm under the burn line – nothing major but definitely something to keep an eye on moving forward. The overall body was relatively similar to the first light experience and the smoke was plentiful, soft, and creamy.
Second Third: It was at this point in the stick that I wish I had sprung for the Toro over the Robusto as I found myself really enjoying a transition in flavors from a creamy, leather forward note that morphed into a nuttiness – almost like a butter pecan – which then gave way to a slight, creamy and woodsy note. The flavors did start darkening slightly toward the band which is to be expected with a smaller vitola. The ash held on beautifully – I was halfway done with the stick before ashing it. The body came up a tick to a solid medium and was chalked full of the flavors above. The band removal was a breeze and there was no strength (nicotine) detected at this point in the smoke.
Final Third: As I get into the final third, I’m always looking at the coolness of the cherry and of the smoke. Throughout the cigar, both remained cool until I got to the final third. I was pleased when the cherry started warming up but didn’t seem to be affecting the coolness of the smoke. I also notice that the smoking time slowed significantly at the end of the second third and into the start of the final third. The body remained at a medium and flavor notes darkened just slightly. They included notes of graham cracker, medium leather, and cedar. I was pleased at one point in the final third that the generic nutty flavor shifted slightly toward a peanut brittle. Flavors then kind of faded and I was left with a flavor note that I can only describe as similar to a leather after you get done cleaning it – but that was short lived. Still no strength was detected at this point. Overall smoking time was 58 minutes.
Overall: If I had a buddy looking to get away from the flavored sticks, or just to get into cigars at all, this would be one of the options I would lay on the table. It was a beautiful representation of the smoothness and creaminess that you can get from a blend while still maintaining some degree of complexity. Is it the most complex blend in the humidor? No, but it isn’t meant to be. The final score came out to a 9.0/10 or 90/100 and this will likely be one I keep stocked in my humidor – although next time I’ll spring for the next size up!
James Pitt –
What an absolutely unique smoke this cigar is. So creamy and smooth. I will have a box of these in my coolidor for the rest of my days.

First off, the name is awesome! They say you eat with your eyes and this is no exception, the stick itself was just a beauty to look at, the wrapper makes you feel like you have a $30 cigar in your hands and there were no inconsistencies in the construction of the stick itself. On lighting, the cigar literally explodes into flavor with no real “warm up” time however I do disagree with the tasting notes quite a bit. The cigar through the first half was a full mouth smoke with heavy wet leather, mesquite smoke, and toasted pumpernickel bread notes that complemented each other well. The aroma was of heavy musk and leather which added to the overall flavor in a constructive way, and if it hadn’t been for the beautiful burnt brown color I would have sworn I was smoking a maduro. The draw was actually not to tight at all (I use a double v cut that makes an X pattern) and the burn was almost perfect through the first half, the ash was beautiful with a slight bend downward, and the smoke was ample but not overwhelming:
The second half almost exactly in the middle amped up from fireworks to near napalm with the leather taking backseat almost entirely to the the taste of burnt toast, the cigar lost any bent of sweetness and really earned its namesake “filthy Viking”. The ash was brittle and the burn began to take a stair step toward the left, the smoke became overwhelming in the mouth and the nicotine went from almost a non issue to an “where’s the chocolate milk” situation very quickly. When the wrapper was removed there was a huddle of glue on the stick that I couldn’t bring myself to smoke past but the scent of the cigar was so pleasant I actually sat and let it burn out just for the aroma! Overall the reason this cigar gets four stars is because of the first half alone, the first half of this cigar should have a much higher price point and in the future I’ll be buying the longer version and simply smoking half a cigar. Well done American Viking! Now please make a “filthy Viking” Connecticut.

4.3 ⭐️ Great beginners cigar. Light cigars rarely satisfy me but this one had flavor.

DAMN GOOD

This stick has it all. Good construction and burn. Rich, creamy flavor. Definitely worth the price. American Viking was on point with this one.
ajamison (verified owner) –
I liked this but it did not really do it for me, I do not taste alot of flavor it just seems very muted flavor-wise for me anyway, For a private label brand this is not bad at all. I do have another i will give it another shot but so far i have it 4 stars because i have definitely had far better cigars but I have also had much worse.
This is a great stick for the price and I will be buying more to add to the rotation but sadly this was not in my top 5 cigars but still humidor worthy
Chris Marshall (verified owner) –
I got a box of these, and I’m glad I did. Something about it keeps you coming back for more.
Jeremy Johnson (verified owner) –
I’m out smoking this stick now with my morning coffee. I should’ve bought more than the one stick it’s as good as advertised. I will definitely be throwing some more into next order.
Chris Marshall (verified owner) –
I bought of box of these and they keep getting better and better. I’ve been getting more flavor notes the longer they sit in the humidor. I pulled one out tonight and got a good chocolate note in the second third. Definitely loving these.

Good flavor but loose draw for my taste. Plenty of smoke output
Shawn Tennien (verified owner) –
This is the cigar that made me realize what my go to blend would be if I were to try something new. It’s one of the “close your eyes on the retrohale” kind of sticks.
Jeremy Johnson (verified owner) –
One of my favorite sticks. Pairs well with just about everything I drink with it from coffee and DP to bourbon and rum.
Jeremy Johnson (verified owner) –
I rarely smoke the same sticks 2x in a year. I like to change it up, but with this smoke I keep coming back at least once a month.
mwwood (verified owner) –
Very sweet, easy draw, enjoyable 45-minute to an hour long smoke. Consistently good, it’s an every-day kind of smoke
Zombiemaster76 (verified owner) –
This is a well put together cigar. Great presentation, beautiful, smooth draw with plenty of smoke all the way through. My wife and I were on a walk in pretty high winds and the burn was perfect and even, never had to touch up or relight.
Heavy pepper at light up , almost overwhelming but it mellowed out at the end of the first third. That’s where the smooth leather and nuttiness kicked in. The retrohale was a little rough with that pepper coming back in but more of a lingering white instead of a harsh black hit. The last third is really mellow and pretty smooth with mostly leather but does have the pepper on the retrohale all the way through. All in all a great experience and pretty good smoke. Filthy Viking is definitely the right name for it.
PAPiper (verified owner) –
An interesting cigar from the light up through the last 1/3. Good flavor of Coffee, nuts, and an earthiness. I was pleasantly suprised at how this cigar developed throughout the smoke. A little muted at the end and a good mild-medium beginner cigar. Rated a 89. It lost points as it did burn a little off on one side, and the muted flavor towards the end. Overall I will keep some in my humidor.
James Goryl (verified owner) –
absolutely blown away by this stick. Nice pepper through the retro on light up got some earthiness, creaminess, as well as this amazing surprising buttery flavor note which was exquisite. and for the price of this stick i’m surprised you can keep it on the shelf such an amazing smoke can’t wait to get a bigger humidor so I can stock up on these.

I just smoked one today 5/30/24 midday Florida. I kind of admire Mr. Swanson for doing his thing and doing it so well. I’ve had a terrible experience with Smoke inn cigars. They were the 1st online shop experience I’ve had and man do they have terrible manners and costumer service. I’m lucky Tim puts out content on YouTube. Because otherwise I wouldn’t have a good place to buy my cigars. With this cigar Tim promotes here and there and the content he displays with so much passion it feels like home to me. Thank you cigar daily and all you do. Great cigar great people and products.

Good cigar. Great beginner entry level smoke. Does have that buttery flavor/texture. Smooth and a little sweet. Will be buying some more in the near future.

One of my favorites. Go to consistently again and again for great construction. Guaranteed flavor profile that is complex but approachable.
Cameron Serena (verified owner) –
As a newer cigar smoker i enjoy these alot i can pickup flavors in this that i think get overwhelmed by my younger pallette super recommended for a newer smoker to try
