From Halfwheel.com, “…The Tabernacle starts dry and smooth. There’s a dark chocolate overtone that sits on top of a very earthy flavor with touches of hickory and peanut butter before some toastiness enters on the finish…. It is being produced at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua S.A., a factory better known for working with Pennsylvania broadleaf instead of broadleaf from Connecticut. Underneath the Connecticut broadleaf wrapper is a Mexican San Andrés binder and a blend of filler tobaccos from Honduras and Nicaragua, including some from Fernandez’s La Soledad farm.”

The Tabernacle is Foundation Cigars’ Connecticut Broadleaf masterpiece that explodes with robust notes of earthy cocao and nuts. This has become one of the most popular new cigars in the last few years.

This is at the top of my list of full bodied cigars. It’s well constructed with a smooth draw and solid ash. It’s complex, but not over bearing. It comes with notes of earth, chocolate, nuts, and a smooth sweet and spicy finish. I’d find it hard to believe for any full bodied cigar guy/gal not to love this one.

Tabernacle certainly delivers on flavor. From light up I get a very robust earthy note of pepper. Transitions in cocoa. This produced amazing smoke and flavor. The dark wrapper is full flavored and hits a lot of earthy notes. Another great cigar from Foundation!

I don’t get the hype. It’s a beautiful looking cigar, well constructed and unique. But I did not get a whole lot of flavor out of it, maybe a slight nutty taste and bitter cocoa but nothing to write home about.

It gets 4 stars instead of 5 because it doesn’t come with a plastic wrapper around it, so I can’t properly store them the way I do my other cigars in the humidor I bought from this company, which recommended setting the cigar on its foot (presuming it is in a plastic wrap)

This is one of the better broadleafs out there. As a fan of Liga Privada and Dunbarton, this is a great option as well. The Havana seed variety is awesome too.

This cigar has moved to the top of my preferred list. Amazing full and bold flavors all the way through the end. Stayed very consistent. Great smoke output as well.

This cigar is quite complex, with lots of bold flavors, mostly chocolate. The aftertaste was of hardwood smoke and ash. The draw was even, but burned too fast for my preference.

I’ve been smoking cigars for over 20 years. This is the best one I’ve ever had. If you like strong cigars with complex flavors, you might want to try this.
