“I think many of us as cigar enthusiasts, enjoy the hunt for that ever elusive “Cigar
Nirvana”. Always trying something new in hopes that upon lighting up we
think “Now THIS is what I’ve been looking for!!!” I’m not sure if the
Jacob’s Ladder from Southern Draw is truly Cigar Nirvana……but for me,
it comes awful dang close!” – Cigar Weekly 2017.

Great cigar! For me, it was medium-full, but it could be considered a full bodied stick, to someone new to cigars. What a wonderfully made cigar, both on the flavors, construction, & aromas. I totally recommend it to anybody looking for a flavor bomb.

I had to review this one again. My 3rd time enjoying this amazing cigar, and it was as great as the first time. Still a medium bodied stick for me, but I still get a nice kick of spicy cinnamon and that lovely pepper zing. My brother gave me a few of these, and it reminded me to order some more from Cigars Daily.

This cigar at light up was very spicy for me, almost too spicy and I thought I would not like it, but after a few minutes the cigar opened up and it was a wonderful tasting cigars, notes of sweet hay and chocolate and some floral notes. The one thing that impressed me is the aroma it gives off while burning, it was such a pleasant smell, and this will be a permanent Cigar in my humidor.

My go to night time smoke. I get oak, molasses, honey, red pepper spice, and a dark chocolate at times. I’ll keep buying until they’re gone.

This is a great cigar. To me, however the first third was the shining star… the last third seemed to get muddled in the flavor profile… but perhaps I need to enjoy a few more.
That said, it certainly is a fine effort with all the things we love in full-body cigars. Rich, dark flavors and spice (especially on the retro). Definitely something I’d recommend folks try.

Jacob’s latter is a really cool looking cigar with the cedar covering the shaft but don’t let that fool you, it packs a punch. It’s got great flavor and isn’t really for the beginner cigar smoker. Overall I rated this a 90 and would absolutely purchase it again!

Tonight, I smoked the southern draw Jacobs ladder, and here’s the run down. After a cut and a light, this cigar produced some very dark flavors. A noticeable black pepper right off the light, it’s woodsy, a little tongue spice, a slight nuttiness, with smidge of sweetness, not very balanced. Mine had a tunnel issue the whole way through, I spent more time touching it up than smoking it. There’s a nice leather in the first third. It does have a chocolate essence half way though. It has a strong cigar vibe to it. Tight draw, I used a poker to loosen it a bit. The sweetness does turn molasses in the second third. Full body. Medium finish. I’m giving it 89 points because it lost points for construction issues which did get under control at the end of the second third.
