“I think many of us as cigar enthusiasts, enjoy the hunt for that ever elusive “Cigar
Nirvana”. Always trying something new in hopes that upon lighting up we
think “Now THIS is what I’ve been looking for!!!” I’m not sure if the
Jacob’s Ladder from Southern Draw is truly Cigar Nirvana……but for me,
it comes awful dang close!” – Cigar Weekly 2017.
Notes: black cherry, cashews, coffee, molasses and cracked pepper

The Jacobs Ladder just hit home for me. Spicy, Sweet and strong but tameable. One of my favorite under $10 stick for a while. Absolutely awesome with a nightcap if good Whiskey after a hearty steak and potato dinner.

Freakin love this stick. Real nice chocolate bar flavor that is sweet on my palate. Quickly became a go to

“black cherry, cashews, coffee, molasses and cracked pepper” are spot on. Would also add notes of cocoa in 2nd third and great sweetness through the last half. Black cherry comes out more in the final third and on the finish.
Fiancé and I smoked this together to celebrate our engagement. Perhaps an odd pick for that but we both really enjoyed it.

A milk chocolatey, salted movie buttery success! I can agree with Crazy about Cashews now that I see his comment.
On the retrohale pepper, cocoa, and butter to sooth the chili pepper on the after taste.
So much buttery sweetness after each puff! No bitterness aftertaste, a box will be in the near future! First cigar that I can 100% say I love!

My favorite cigar from Southern Draw. For sure a strong cigar with great dark flavors. Burn was razor sharp and the draw was perfect.

Spice and espresso with cedar. Medium that gets more full. Great draw, even burn, holds a nice long ash.

Nothing bad about it. Spice and espresso with cedar. Even burn. Smooth draw. Held a nice firm ash. Medium-full for sure. Medium in the first two thrids and got stronger in the final third.

I am new to the cigar world. But I just found my new favorite go to. Wonderful full bodied flavor, great construction and burn. Overall pleasant smoking experience. I will certainly delve more into Southern Draw to see what else they have to offer.

This Jacob’s Ladder reminded me of a thick, juicy, medium rare steak right out of the smoker. Full, dark, rich flavors and body. Smooth, cool smoke all the way through. Very pleased with the experience.

I was looking forward to this cigar. It was the first one out my order I picked to smoke. I couldn’t finish it. Not sure exactly what it was. There was a horrible flavor, almost like a rotted hay. Or something soured. I never got any other flavor. I wanted to power through but couldn’t get the the second third. This was the 1st product from Southern draw I had bought. I would try another one. May have just got a bad one. A little tight on the draw too.

Good smoke output, 10/10 aromatics, great burn line & draw with a V-cut. Some pepper spice, nuttiness, creamy vanilla, espresso, milk chocolate. Smoked down to the nub. Will have to try again.

Great Draw. Holds a great ash. Burns evenly. I love the CT Broadleaf, so I’m biased, but absolutely amazing cigar. Its categorized in my “Certified Bangers” category. They have a 5.5 x 60 I’m pretty sure. Can’t wait to try that size as its my preferred size.

3.75 out of 4 Excellent!😍💪
Publicly available hype and history from CI states: “Southern Draw is one of the newest brands to hit our shelves, and I have to say, bravo. Each created by AJ Fernandez in Nicaragua, so you can expect some big things.
Jacob’s Ladder is easily one of Southern Draw’s most flavorful cigars. Best described as heavenly, this handmade treat features a Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper and is brimming with Nicaraguan fillers leading to notes of cedar, spice, and espresso. This delicious little gem will surely leave you wanting more…”
My take is: This is reminiscent of a a Fuente only stronger. Very tasty and great flavor. Thought it would kick me down the curb but it’s just not as strong as many articles and comments led me to believe it would be. Powerful in flavor and well balanced. Only subtle pepper, even on the retro . I enjoyed t very much and looking forward to having the next four after some time in the humi.
