From Southern Draw’s Website,”HAND CRAFTED IN ESTELI, NICARAGUA Firethorn, our second offering, has been specially blended to pair with medium weight styles of craft brews, boutique wines and spirits. The aged Habano Rosado, double-fermented wrapper is flawless with a taste that will quite simply – draw you in. The wrapper is complemented by perfectly aged binders and fillers from Cuban seed tobacco grown in Nicaragua and Mexico. From the first draw, the sweet and natural aromas will tantalize the palate. After the first third of the cigar, some spicy notes will blend and then gently trail off, leaving you with a flutter of cinnamon, cocoa and caramel, eventually fading into a subtle pecan-like finish. This handmade beauty has a closed foot for a smooth and toasty burn that results in a firm ash. Ahh! Perfection.”

One of the best cigars I’ve ever had. I actually asked on chat during a live stream with the owner of SD which stick would he recommend for my first SD and he recommended THIS!! Unreal flavor, smooth and slightly earthy such a beautiful stick I almost didn’t want to light it. So incredibly smooth. If you are new to cigars or smoke them often this is a MUST HAVE in your humidor!

This one is a champ, Southern Draw is a winner and this cigar is among my favorites. The flavor is so good and so complex I struggle to notice all the notes, so I make it simple, I just really like this stick! Give one a try and I am sure you will understand.

This cigar had a closed foot creating a large amount of ash at light up. Initially the draw was very tight with little smoke output. The half way point the draw improved. The flavor profile was bold with a woody, cedar flavor not much spice close to the Gaaja. Even burn and it did not go out despite the draw issues at the beginning.

I was looking forward to this and unfortunately it was a disappointment. Very good construction, firm to hard. But that was it. I didn’t get any of the taste or aroma.

This one was pretty good. What put me off a bit was the harshness and lack of flavor in the first 3rd but the second 3rd really made up for it with a sweet creamy taste of caramel and cinnamon which gave way to mellow pecan pie flavor in last 3rd. Overall a good smoke, but not exactly my thing.

This was delicious. The description above was spot on. Burn needed one touch up in the second third and was even they rest of the time. Nice smooth draw with lots of smoke. Great flavor. Great aftertaste. Flawless.

Great construction, burn and draw. First few puffs included a bit of spice, but faded quickly to a smooth medium body providing notes of light roasted coffee, nuts & wood.

This was my first southern draw that i have smoked. I have two more from cigars daily i have yet to light up. But im an AJ hoe so i figured they would be right up my ally. I initially did not realize that this stick had the tightest closed foot i have ever seen so i draw tooled it a few times before i realized it had to be the foot. Draw was fine even though i probed it like an alien spacecraft. First inch was a little weird. Second third was wonderful, as they say on their website it had a pecan pie flavor on the aftertaste. First time i have gotten that in a cigar. Im halfway thru the final third and it tastes like any other aj now, which is by no mean a knock on the stick. Very spice forward flavors a lot of cinnamon and nutmeg. Not what i was expecting but it was not a disappointment.

I enjoyed this stick. A little too mild for my liking but it was still enjoyable and construction was good.

Great flavor of sweet and spice. Slight coffee as well. Always in my humidor.

I read a few reviews and heard from people that this was either a top 5 or top 10 cigar for all of them. I ordered the last 5 from this last shipment to CD. After the first one I ordered a box. All 5 are consistent and I enjoyed every single one. The cinnamon, spice, and cocoa in this blend blew me away. I literally cannot get enough of this cigar. This is a top 5 in my book. It’s medium almost bold, burns even, plenty of smoke, and pulls easily. I would recommend resting the cigars a while so you definitely get the full experience and any humidity issues don’t ruin the flavor profile or burn for you. Enjoy.
