I am very new to cigars, and this was my first cigar outside of a few optimo’s. I was absolutely astounded by the flavor notes I received from this little stick! It has the underlaying taste of pure tobacco of course, the first flavor was a hint of walnut, followed by a pleasant smokey flavor (much like a good grill out). In the second third my fiancé and I picked up the most mellow and pleasing hint of honey. This paired wonderfully with a cold coke, was smooth and easy to retrohal. Took both of us sharing it about 20 minutes to smoke, with frequent draws. Well worth the pirce!

Great deal for the price but overall I thought it was ok. Flavor was mello and it served its purpose but have had 3 already and seems to all have a very snug draw and the extremely small ring size along with an unusually longer length for such a small cigar through some off, kinda reminds me of a cigar version of Virginia Slims in a way lol

Man I love these tasty little guys. Great smokes! Good flavor, the draw is surprisingly good and just enjoyable all around. I like to smoke one when I feel like have a another smoke, but don’t want to spend the time on a full stick. I will definitely be ordering again. Super fast shipping is always a plus with Cigars Daily also!

Was somewhat loosely rolled at both head and foot, and a bit squishy. Wrapper broke hear he head during routine handling prior to smoking and I had to handle it gently to prevent unwrapping. A closed head on something with such a small ring gauge might be a bad idea, and upon inspection I could think of no way to cut it without cutting the entire cap off and likely seeing the entire thing unrolling. It is about the same circumfrence as my cigar punch, so that wasn’t an option. So I ended cutting the entire cap off trying to cut the head(the other option being to light the cap and smoke it backward. Perhaps I should have smoked it backward, as I immediately got to experience the joy os smoking a cigarillo that was coming unwrapped. I did have to re-light it twice, despite frequent draws.
The draw was very easy and it burned fast. No real flavor, niether pleasant or otherwise. Incredibly neutral. The impression I get it that leaves The retrohale was mostly just the heat of the smoke. The ~15 minute estimated smoke time in the description is accurate in my experience. There was relatively little smoke off of the end of the cigar, but a rather large volume on each draw. I’m a fairly new smoker, so perhaps my palette is not sufficiently developed to pick up on the flavors other reviewers say they are picking up on.
Overall, I did not find the very mild and mellow smoke objectionable at all and my only real complaints are the issues I noted with the construction. If it weren’t for these issues (which could well be a one-off QC issue for all I know) and they’d foregone the cap, it would be a nearly perfect break-time choice.
The overall mellow flavor and what seems to be to be overall very good leaf quality at this price-point, combined with my hopes that these construction issues will prove to be a one-off make me prone to try this smoke again. It might well be that these simply don’t do well when you purchase only one and it is is able to jostle around a bit during shipping. Even if these construction issues prove common, I can accept it if I consistently get this smooth and mellow a smoke (sans any acridness or sourness, unlike most other cigarillos I’ve tried at comparable pricepoints). Might just have to light the head and smoke it backwards if I can’t find a smaller cigar punch. Definitely gonna give these a second try. Would give 5 stars if it hadn’t been for construction issues, as these are definitely the smoothest and most enjoyable little cigars I’ve had at anything near this price point. If the next batch don’t have these issues, I’ll be looking to update my review and update my rating accordingly.

These are good for a beginner stick, not too much flavor with these but you get what you paid for. Also a big heads up these are very skinny and a bit on the small side. The cool thing is you can buy these things in bulk and store them inside a pickle jar or a good sized mason. I will definitely will buy more once I save up.

I wasn’t expecting much out of these given the price, but dang was I wrong. For the price, these pack a good bit of flavor. Fairly mild, but produces a surprising amount of smoke. I’ll be getting a lot more of these. They’re perfect for when I just need 15-30 mins to relax and clear my head.

Another waste of money, shipped loose in a zip lock bag, mostly damage dried out and cracked. Cheap but most un smoke able.

Mark, that’s terrible news, and it certainly sounds like something we should be fixing for you. I’m going to pass your info along to Customer Service and ask them to reach out to you about replacements. We’re proud of Rico Barato Poco Tiempos, but they certainly have to be smokeable! – Tim

This was such a hard draw that I barely got any smoke even when I almost blew a blood vessel drawing so hard. On top of that damn thing wouldn’t stay lit. Through more than half away just in frustration.
Tim Swanson –
Oh no! That’s not the experience we want people to have with the Rico Barato! Sounds like we’ve gotten a bad batch from the factory. These have been a popular item among our customers for the past 3 years. I’ll be reaching out to the factory. In the mean time, I’m going to ask Customer Serivce to replace these for you immediately. There’s no excuse for bad cigars.

These are great short smoke and for the price you get a decent amount of flavor. Glad to have these in humidor for those cold days or when there’s not much time to smoke.

The closest a cigarillo has gotten to a cigar in my opinion. Great price and a good taste. Definitely worth a try.

These are basically loosely packed cigarettes, they came in and were just tossed in a ziplock loose, half of the ones i looked at were rolled very loosely, the amount of tabacco in the bag was concerning and finally after smoking one they tasted basically like cigarettes. Now for someone who like cigarettes this is a great cigar it has nothing going on except tobacco flavor it is extremely thin and smokes quickly. The last two points i wont fault it for as i knew it would be a very thin cigar. Will definitely be using these as giveaway jokes and will not be buying again.

Got a 10 pack of these as my first Cigar purchase. First up the 5×26 is not a size i like that much and my next purchases will be larger format. Now saying that i did enjoy the smoke. It may just be me looking for flavour notes but on the retrohale i swear i tasted a note of pepper, couldn’t discern any other flavours of note but i have only smoked 2 of them. Over all these are a very good Cigarillo for the money. They came in a ziplocked bag that was bubble wrapped then boxed with paper inside another box also with packing paper, The package was exemplary and they arrived perfectly with a 62% humidity sachet inside. These i probably won’t return to in this form factor but would give the Robusto in a 5×50 a go.
