From Americanvikingcigars.com, “Rico Barato is not a real person. We made him up. His name means Rico – ‘rich’ Barato – ‘cheap’. These are our econonmy cigar brand, and they have a very special place in our hearts. There was a long time when co-owner Tim Swanson could only afford sticks like these. Each stick is a mix of long filler with some short filler sprinkled in, making this a Cuban Sandwich. The drawback with these affordable cigars is that they burn a little faster, and have a pretty simple flavor profile. But we feel that these Connecticut sticks offer incredible consistency, construction, and flavor… especially for their shelf price.”

Killgore –
Just smoked one tonight and I’ve gotta say its definitely one of a kind. One of a kind because I’ve never smoked a cigar that tastes like ash tray in the mouth, but beautiful pepper notes on the retrohale. Its was both horrible and delicious at the same time. My personal opinion is, I’ll save a buck a stick on my budget stock and just stick with factory smokes.

Let me start with it plain and simple, It’s a 4$ stick. upon light up I was getting smooth rich tobacco flavor that slowly built up earthy notes,No faults construction nice and and with a little pacing the stick was fantastic,The second I walked back inside I wanted another one . For a 4$ stick it’s vary worth it and I implore that you give it a try there’s not much to lose. Will defiantly be order more next summer.

Good smoke for the price of the cigar. Had a little burn issue at the beginning but once I touched it up it was a good burn the rest of the way. Good draw and got some hints of chocolate in the 2nd third. The final third finish was good. Definitely outperformed my expectations. Will pick up a few more for the humidor.
Chorowitz –
Not gonna lie, the construction was really bad, it was falling apart out of the package. That being said, once I got it lit and started smoking, it was absolutely enjoyable. Couldn’t ask more for the price.

Second time enjoying this cigar. I get more flavor from this bundled stick than i do with DE factory smokes. The burn time was longer, smoke was richer, flavor overall better, so yah i will pay a little more , but its worth it. I think i will order the gordo next round.

Strength: Medium. Burn Time: Hour. Burn: Uneven and un wrapped while smoking. Taste Bland. An ok cigar while mowing the Lawn.

I really enjoy these . I like that they are cheap and a torpedo. They are my go to cigar if I’m not sure if I will have enough time to enjoy one or if a friend is a round that wants to smoke one . Your not going to break the bank keeping these in your humidor.

This has become my everyday cigar. Plus I get to support a new brand (Viking Cigars). Get a bundle and keep them around for when you just want a cigar but don’t want an ultra premium.

Great cigar for the price, great flavor, I just ordered more

Loved this stick! Just had one on lunch break and was thoroughly impressed by the flavor it gave off for the price! gonna be my daily smoker cant wait to try its Connecticut counterpart
Wmashburn –
Good smoke. Pleasant flavor and good smoke. Wanted to go out and had an uneven burn in final third , but we’ll worth $3

I mean… for 3 bucks, it’s hard to beat. I found it non-enjoyable for the first 5 minutes, then the flavor starts to pick up and get nicer. Gets pretty hot towards the nub. A very decent maduro imo.

My first Maduro and i can’t say i dislike it! It was very smooth and relaxing. Will be buying more in the future

I did not enjoy this one. In my opinion, it tasted like wood and dirt. It also had a very uneven burn. Just seemed like a chore to smoke it. Needless to say, I’m pretty disappointed. I may revisit another time. If it changes, I may change my review.

Presently surprised, it’s quite a good stick, has a few flaws but it tastes pretty darn good, burn is pretty good, ash hold on, cool burning, my only issue is the wrapper is extremely fragile, has a few holes and cracks as the cigar heats up and expands. But I’ll be buying many more.
