Smooth and smokey. The burn was pretty even and only needed a minor touch up or two. The flavor notes above are spot on. I picked up more cocoa and almonds then carmel. The spice was barely there but you could still taste it. The ash fell every half inch or so if that bothers you. I had to put in down a little over half way through and it still had the same great flavors after relight.
