On tobacco fermentation: The process of fermenting tobacco is quite a bit different than it is with alcohol. While the spirits industry focuses on converting sugars to alcohol, expert cigar makers, like Oliva, create pilones (2000 lb stacks of tobacco), which naturally heat up to off-gas ammonia and allow flavor characteristics from seed, soil, and sun exposure to shine through in the finished profile. The quality of fermentation is one of the key parts of the cigar making process that sets some brands apart from others. La Fermentada features Oliva’s expertly fermented tobaccos, hand crafted into a complex blend that offers clean brilliant flavor across the palate.

Wow! Yup I need a box ASAP! Smooth as silk, Draw was perfect, nice clean finish. Construction is flawless, burn even and razor sharp. Nice floral note on the back end. Tim and Oliva knocked this one out of the park.

Just smoked the first one out of the box and all I have to say is wow!! I rated it a 90! It is a medium strength round body smoke. It has cedar retro and a boiled peanut, earth, sour mash sweetness profile. It lost points because it didn’t have any flavor transitions. I am so glad I bought a whole box!

Wow, what a smooth smoke. 2nd 3rd really mellowed out and has a great burn. I’m not great with flavor notes, I just know what I like. And this is making a home in my humidor.
