From My Father’s website: My Father Connecticut is going to be an extension of the already existing line My Father and My Father Le Bijou; the cigar is blended by Jose “Pepin” Garcia and his son Jaime Garcia at the My Father Cigar Factory in Nicaragua It features an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, Nicaragua Corojo 99 Binder and Nicaragua Habano-Criollo filler, all the tobacco coming out of the Garcia’s farms with the exception of the wrapper which comes from Ecuador. This cigar also features a very unique aromatic leaf that gives the cigar aromas and flavors; a special fermentation process was given to this particular type of tobacco in order for it to release all the aromas and flavors that the Garcias were looking for to finish the last touch of this blend.
My Father Connecticut Toro (6.5×54)
$10.00 – $206.99
Compared to Jose Garcia’s typical medium to full bodied, flavorful blends, this cigar ranks right up there with the rest of the hard hitters even though it is considered to be more mellow. In like-kind it is full of complex flavors and wrapped in a beautiful Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. Surrounded in an elegant band, this is one to present right up front in your humidor.

My first My Father cigar and definitely won’t be my last. Great even burn and draw. Very creamy and smooth. Very consistent flavor throughout. Kept wanting to go back to it. Absolutely awesome smoke for less than $9. Will be in my normal rotation for Connecticut’s in my humidor!

Wow. I can’t believe I just got around to trying this stick even after only hearing good things about it. Once I run out, might have to grab a box… Cigars Daily has me tying and finding all different types of smokes I now think are box worthy.

Today, I smoked something out of my preferred cigars, which is the My Father Connecticut toro, and here’s what I thought. First draw brought in a light spice in the retro and some almonds and earthiness. Slightly woodsy. As I got into the first third a little sweetness developed and it became brighter and a little creamy even. A little cedar started coming in as well. It had pretty good construction all the way through. Soft transitions. The retro hale enhanced the flavor profile nicely. It’s a soft light cigar with no harshness. The darkest note in this cigar was the floral note. A little hint of chocolate was there in the second third but very light. In the final third the flavor profile did fade and it became smooth and creamy. Overall this really wasn’t my kind of cigar, I’m a maduro maniac but this was a nice break from my usual smokes. The My Father branding label is my most favorite cigar maker of all time and I would recommend this if you enjoy soft smooth creamy cigars. My score on this came out to a 90+ Rating.

i often find connecticut to be a little bit bitter and unpleasant, this cigar is great. My father doesn’t produce a single cigar that is not worth the money. This will definitely be in my rotation on hot days or when i want something with a little less of a punch than say a blue label don pepin

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite smokes. All the examples of this cigar have had a universally good draw, and an easy going, creamy nature. I had a nearly 2 hour experience smoking the last one and it was very enjoyable and mild all the way through.
