Beautiful oily box pressed San Andrés from AJ Fernandez? Sign me up! This cigar had a very prominent leathery/chocolate Earth tone and a very clean note that tasted like salted butter in coffee. Suffice it to say, this one was very complex.
Hope this cigar gets to stick around; it’s worthy of a box purchase!

Smoked it to the nub, usually not of fan of AJ, but with this one even Nick Melilo will be mad he didnt get this fermented leaf. Its so smooth and chocolatey, no acrid aftertaste. It reminds me of what Liga Privada used to be.

Box worthy for sure! I feel like its almost exactly like the Viva La Vida, but maybe not. Prominent coffee and unsweetened chocolate finish. Beautiful looking stick with a great burn!

I ordered one to try but I should of ordered a box. I’m a fan of AJ Fernandez blends. A comparable blend is the Diesel Esteli Puro. My other favorite of AJ’s is Bellas Artes. As for El Pulpo I got a bit of a nicotine bite on this one and I normally have 1 toro and 1 robusto a day. The chocolate, leather, and pepper really come through. I paired it with a small glass of Jack Daniels Barrel Proof, 130 proof roughly. Absolutely knocked my socks off on Friday evening after work. The aroma is rich and the retro is enjoyable. Perfect burn, I didn’t have to touch it up a single time. I nubbed it and it just got better the whole burn. I’ll definitely be looking to grab some more soon.
