One of the hottest manufacturers on the market today is without a doubt AJ Fernandez. So much so that companies are tapping him to make cigars for their own portfolio. While this helps get your name out there, it can also work against you as people tend to overlook your core lines. One of those core lines is the AJ Fernandez New World which is a Nicaraguan puro. The company describes the cigar as, “a true work of art blended with the finest tobaccos found in the four main tobacco regions of Nicaragua. Hand selected wrapper and fillers from Esteli, Ometepe, Condega and Jalapa are showcased in a beautiful medium to full-bodied box pressed cigar.” From CigarAuthority.com

The AJ Fernandez New World Connecticut takes the celebrated New World line in a smoother, more refined direction, delivering a mellow yet flavorful experience without sacrificing depth. Draped in a silky U.S.-grown Connecticut Shade wrapper, this cigar strikes a beautiful golden tone that sets the stage for its elegance. Beneath the wrapper rests a sturdy San Andrés Mexican binder and a select blend of Nicaraguan and Brazilian long-fillers, each aged to perfection to ensure balance and consistency.
From the first light, you’ll notice a creamy texture accented by notes of cedar, toasted almonds, and soft spice. Subtle layers of sweetness and floral nuance weave in as the cigar develops, keeping the profile interesting while remaining approachable. The construction is flawless, offering an even burn and effortless draw that showcases AJ Fernandez’s uncompromising attention to detail.
Perfect for new smokers exploring premium cigars or seasoned aficionados seeking a sophisticated, anytime smoke, the New World Connecticut proves that mild does not mean boring. It’s smooth, creamy, and complex in a way that only AJ Fernandez could deliver.

You can taste the amazing blend and aged tobacco on these. Its an everyday perfect smoke!

Tasty cigar but very strong. Lots of nicotine, to the point where it would trigger a run for the border afterwards.
Otherwise, this guy is very pepper and robust for a Connecticut. My wife said it was the harshest out of all my most recent Connecticut purchases (Leaf by Oscar, Rico Barato, Filthy Viking).

A wonderful blend, great burn, and definitely can be an everyday smoke. Burn was even, and construction was very nice.

Hands down my favorite Connecticut. Super chocolatey with some spice too!

Had one of these in an AJ sampler. That one was enough to convince me to purchase a box and usually I want to try at least 2 or 3 before springing for a box.
To say AJ Fernandez is a tobacco genius is maybe understating it, and this blend proves it once again. The combination of US Connecticut shade with the Mexican binder and throwing in some Brazilian tobacco really shines. Love the flavors here. This is a stick I feel like I can smoke any time; just kick back and enjoy. The construction is excellent – as usual for AJ – and makes for a very enjoyable experience.
Definitely NOT a boring Connecticut shade cigar.

This is one of my favorites! Smoked it clear to the nub. It had a good ash and plenty of mild flavor. This is one of my favorite AJ cigars I always keep one in my humidor

The AJ Fernandez New World Connecticut Robusto (5×50) is a refreshing departure from AJ’s typically bold, full-bodied blends. I picked this up from Cigars Daily, and it’s quickly become one of my go-to morning smokes. This cigar proves that Connecticut-wrapped cigars can be mellow without being boring. It’s a staple in my humidor for mellow moments with rich character.

Love the taste, hate the construction! First tried one of these in a sampler. Liked it. Bought a box . Six out of the 14 I have lit have split the wrapper leaf, while resting! Not from aggressive handling! The wrapper leaves from this box are thinner than tissue paper. They have been kept in my humidor at 68 degrees, 68% humidity. No excuse. Will never buy these again, and I love AJ cigars but this box was junk!

You cannot go wrong with stick. This is not your Dad’s Connecticut Shade. This one packs a punch. It is great with coffee in the morning. It has some spice and a great price.
