In mid-2007 the idea of the Nub was pitched to the no-nonsense Oliva Family and they were more than sceptical. After having smoked numerous samples the excitement began to grow on them and the line went into production. The idea behind the Nub name was to create a brand of cigars where aficionados could taste the FULL flavor of the blend right from the very first light. They have accomplished that goal, and for more than 10 years Nub has been a mainstay for smokers around the world.

Bought one of the guy on the fly at local cigar shop. LOVED IT! Had to go to my true source at Cigars Daily to buy a 5 pack. Came fresh. Taste amazing. Perfect for anytime. Love them in the morning with a cup of coffee

This stogy had a dark oily wrapper, thin vein, tightly rolled, doesn’t feel spongy, not much of an aroma coming off of it pre light. The “Cut and a light”, kicks off with some earthy sweetness and pepper which seems well balanced, maybe a little bit of espresso and bakers high cocoa chocolate flavor. Doesn’t seem full bodied at this point. Nice smoke output. The draw is effortless and open. The smoke is smooth and the burn seems slow and even. The second third brings in some creamy dark chocolate sweetness and the pepper fades slightly, it gets a sight more mellow. The advertisement on this cigar says full bodied but it seems, to me anyway, to be a high medium body, seems more full flavored than full body. A little smooth black pepper coming through the retro hale. The burn line has become a little wavy but no major touch ups. Dense white ash that held on for an inch and a half, small amount of flaking. The final third the chocolate has dropped off a bit and earth, wood and pepper is the main flavor profile. The body has become fuller with a little more strength. The retro hale is slightly more bitter now and woodsy. It has heated up a bit now as well. The smoke time on this for me was an hour and twenty five minutes. Overall the almost $9 price for this smoke, I think, is a bit high, and the full body claim, was a bit lacking.
