From the website of Foundation Cigars, “Charter Oak Cigars hail from the same fertile valley in Connecticut that native son and Master Blender Nick R Agua aka Nick Melillo was born and raised. Charter Oak Cigars feature some of the most prized and sought after Cuban seed leaf varieties from the exquisite Esteli and Jalapa regions of Nicaragua. The cigars are then wrapped in a silky, beautiful Connecticut Shade wrapper and a Sumatran binder for a balanced medium bodied smoke. Or if one prefers a hearty and rich Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, leaving you with the perfect every day and every occasion cigar.”

Just tried my first one today! Not a fanrastic smoke, but a good one. Light easy creamy taste with very little after taste! Really good ash and nice easy draw. The burn was ok but relight was not necessary at all. Smoke was a good hour!

!st cigar of beginner sample pack. excellent draw, a lot of smoke. Very Pepper and spicy start but finally let up. Very little if any flavor, just bland smoke and I did get bad aftertaste on exhale. Not a beginner but just wanted to try this sample pk. Hope others are better.

Great sticks for the price, and a great story behind their name. These definitely smoke like a chimney and have a pretty good construction. No touch up was needed. Sometimes it takes a stick or two to really warm up to them.

Really excellent cigar for the price point. Incredibly well constructed with no touch up needed and it held its ash very well. I definitely enjoyed the closed foot. Mostly consistent smooth flavor of creamy vanilla/woodsy flavor through the first two thirds before breaking into almost a minty finish in the final third. Light to medium 90 minute smoke. I will certainly be buying again, and for less than six bucks a stick in the Toro size it’s totally box-worthy. Looking forward to trying the broadleaf next.

Very flat cap made for a tricky cut. Uneven burn and not a whole lot of smoke. A little peppery, left a tingling sensation on my lips. Retrohale had an unpleasant burn to it.

Overall a decent smoke. OK flavor, long lasting and slightly toothy, but a little too spicy and unexpectedly harsh. If you really enjoy Connecticuts, this might not be the best experience for you.

For a low priced cigar i was very impressed. Great draw, plentiful smoke output, nice flavour, no touchups required.
Ordering a box on my next run as my go-to party stick, perfect to give to friends, perfect if you’re too buzzed to enjoy a finer cigar.

I know this Charter Oak stick comes recommended, but my experience was exactly the opposite. Strong pepper flavor and very poor burn. First stick to ever make me feel ill. The Charter Oak is permanently on my personal DO NOT buy list. I would definitely not recommend this for a new cigar smoker. Sorry for the poor review, but this is my personal experience.

Love this stick. So flavorful and I like the spicy in it. The wrapper is immaculate and the draw is perfect. Such an awesome smoke. I like this because it’s not like “every other Connecticut “. Depth of flavor and transitions were great. Will be getting a box soon.

For the price, great stick. Nice even burn with a great draw. This was recommended to me and I gave it a try. Will buy a few of these to keep in my box.

Burned nice with great draw. Really smooth and mild but seemed to get a little more harder in the second half. Would buy again.

I’ve tried a few of these. Fairly mediocre stick, but for the price it’s hard to complain. I didn’t get too much flavor from the draws, to be honest. Pepper at first but became bitter in the second half. Really benefits from a purge/recharge in the final third. Needed a few touch ups but the burn was even for the most part.

Mild creamy smoke. Enjoying as a morning stick with my coffee. Construction and burn have been consistent and even. Good value.
