Nobody expected the second line from Conor McGregor’s Notorious Cigars to be a Connecticut Shade cigar. The Original launched in 2025 with a four-year-aged Ecuadorian Habano Rosado wrapper and a bold, pepper-forward personality that fit the brand image perfectly. The Crème de la Crème is the proof that Chris Frias and McGregor were not just building a one-note brand. The Connecticut Shade wrapper is the obvious headline, but the Brazilian Arapiraca binder is the decision that makes this cigar genuinely interesting. Arapiraca is one of the most distinctive binder leaves in the world, grown in northeastern Brazil with a natural character that no Central American leaf replicates, and it shows up immediately in the profile of this 6×52 Toro.

What you get is a medium-bodied smoke that opens with espresso and dark chocolate, moves through roasted nuts and a subtle natural sweetness through the middle, and finishes with a long, creamy finish that the name earns without effort. The three-country filler of Nicaraguan, Dominican, and Colombian tobaccos adds complexity that keeps every third interesting. Rolled at MJ Frias in Santiago. Ten to a box. The cigar that proved Notorious is more than one-dimensional.
