Ferio Tego Elegancia 2024 Toro (6×50)

When Michael Herklots and Brendon Scott launched Ferio Tego in 2021, they introduced two cigars simultaneously and made a point of positioning them as opposites. The Generoso goes dark, savory, and Nicaraguan. The Elegancia goes bright, complex, and Dominican. Same annual release structure, same travel humidor packaging, same Plasencia and Quesada partnership that defined the Nat Sherman years. What changes every year is the tobacco itself, selected to reflect what that vintage’s growing conditions produced rather than forcing a replication of the year before.

The 2024 Elegancia is the fourth release and the one that benefited most from time. Rolled in late 2023 and rested through 2024 before shipping in August 2025, this 6×50 Toro from the Quesada family’s TABADEX factory in the Dominican Republic carries an Ecuadorian wrapper over all-Dominican binder and filler, delivering what Herklots describes as the most refined Elegancia yet. Cinnamon toast and roasted hazelnuts lead the first third, dried stone fruit develops through the middle, and vanilla cream rounds out a full-bodied finish that is simultaneously rich and elegant. The name has always meant exactly what it says. The 2024 vintage is the proof.
